MLB parlay pick: Houston Astros vs New York Yankees Over 9 (-105)

To start off our MLB parlay, let’s take the over in this potential AL playoff preview between the Astros and Yankees. With both teams looking to secure a series win, the hosts will have a slight advantage on the mound as they turn to Max Fried (2.78 ERA). While Fried is typically reliable for the Yankees, he’s struggled in his last couple of starts, going 1-2 with a 5.85 ERA over his last 4 outings. On the other side, Houston will counter with Colton Gordon, who holds a 5.29 ERA and has surrendered 10 runs over his last 9 innings pitched. Overall, Gordon is just 1-2 with a 6.89 ERA in his last 4 starts, which bodes well for the Yankees offense at home. While the New York bats should thrive in the Bronx, Houston should have opportunities of its own to capitalize on a shaky Yankees bullpen that owns a 4.24 ERA and has already faltered twice against the Astros in this series.

MLB parlay pick: Cincinnati Reds vs Pittsburgh Pirates Under 8 (-105)

For the 2nd leg of our MLB parlay, we’re off to Pittsburgh for an NL Central showcase between the Reds and Pirates. Both of these pitchers are in good form of late, as Cincinnati starter Zack Littell allowed just 1 runs over 7 excellent innings against the Cubs in his last outing. The right-hander should have a clear path to success against a Pirates team that is batting .219 over the past 7 games. Additionally, the Pirates rank last in runs scored across baseball, while the Reds are batting just .214 and is only averaging 2.17 runs per game over the past week. That bodes well for Pittsburgh starter Mike Burrows, who has given up 2 or fewer runs in 9 of his last 12 outings. Let’s take the under in this Sunday matinee.

MLB parlay pick: Philadelphia Phillies F5 -0.5 over Texas Rangers (-110)

To close out our MLB parlay, let’s back the Phillies on the run line in the first 5 innings. Philadelphia is fresh off a come-from-behind victory on Saturday, and the Phillies power bats should thrive against Rangers starter Patrick Corbin (4.35 xERA), whose expected metrics suggest that he’s due for regression in this contest. It certainly doesn’t help matters for Texas that Philadelphia is countering with the ever dependable Zach Wheeler, who continues to be one of the best pitchers in baseball for yet another season. Wheeler (2.64 ERA) has surrendered 2 runs or fewer in 7 of his last 9 outings, while striking out 8 in nearly all of those starts. As long as Philadelphia’s ace pitches like his usual self and the Phillies can scratch across a few early runs off Corbin, Philadelphia should be well on its way to a lead after 5 innings.
