MLB parlay pick: SD Padres vs Los Angeles Dodgers Under 8.5 (-115)

To start off our MLB parlay, let’s roll with the under in this crucial NL West showdown between the Padres and Dodgers. Los Angeles has turned things around following a very poor recent run of form to take the first 2 games of this pivotal series, and it all starts with the starting pitching for the home side. In fact, Dodger starters have allowed just 1 run over 12 innings pitched to this point in the series, and that good form should continue on Sunday with Tyler Glasnow (3.08 ERA, top 10% xBA and strikeout rate) on the mound. As for San Diego, Yu Darvish has seen plenty of success against Los Angeles in recent seasons — specifically against Shohei Ohtani and the other big bats at the top of the Dodger order. This has the feel of another low-scoring contest in a playoff-like atmosphere, much like the first 2 games in this series.

MLB parlay pick: SF Giants F5 -0.5 over Tampa Bay Rays (-110)

For the second leg of our MLB parlay, we’re off to San Francisco for a matchup between the Rays and Giants. When Logan Webb is on the mound, I typically gravitate toward backing the Giants, especially when San Francisco is at home. Webb has been pretty consistent regardless of ballpark this season, and while he has allowed 19 runs over his last 5 home outings, his poor efforts came against the Dodgers and Padres. It goes without saying that Tampa Bay’s lineup is a noticeable step down, and the Giants’ offense should come to life a bit with Ryan Pepiot (4.11 xERA) on the mound. Pepiot has allowed 13 runs over his last 16 innings pitched on the road. Ultimately, I’ll roll with San Francisco to hold a lead after 5 innings on Sunday.

MLB parlay pick: Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over Washington Nationals (-110)

To close out our MLB parlay, let’s back the Phillies on the run line against the Nationals. Philadelphia will welcome back Aaron Nola, who hasn’t pitched in the majors since May due to injury. Nola has been strong in his rehab starts, and the Phillies could really use his stability in the rotation, as ace Zack Wheeler just hit the injured list with blot clots in his shoulder. However, the most important factor in this game is the pitching situation for the Nationals. Mitchell Parker has struggled mightily this season, and we are happy to bet against him every time he takes the mound. He has given up 17 runs over his 3 starts in August, and he should be the cure for whatever is ailing the Philadelphia bats of late. Behind him is the worst bullpen in baseball, which should also aid in our handicap of Philadelphia to win comfortably.
