April Fools’ Day was no joke as I went 7-2 on my Best NBA Bets! With another 9-game slate coming our way on Friday, I am hoping to once again deliver a bunch of winners. NBA TV will have a double-header, tipping-off at 7.30 pm ET at MSG between the Bulls and Knicks. At 10 pm ET we have the Pelicans and Kings wrapping up the action.
My NBA Best Bets for Friday’s slate are available below, odds are courtesy of FanDuel. Be sure to also go over our NBA Picks before placing your bets, but now let’s get into my predictions!
Pacers vs Hornets Best Bet: Over 236.5 Points (-110)
The high-octane offense of the Pacers versus one of the most prolific teams in the NBA over the past two months, I am all over the points here. Indy knows only one style of play and that’s to attack the basket at will. The over has cashed in 8 of their last 9, including their last 5 on the road.
Timberwolves vs 76ers Best Bet: Anthony Edwards Over 27.5 Points (+102)
Ant Man took the night off in Detroit yesterday, so he should be fresh to carry the offense here. Philadelphia generally struggles vs opposing Shooting Guards, they rank 2nd for points allowed to that position.
Hawks vs Nets Best Bet: Hawks -16 (-114)
Nobody can stop Atlanta right now. They just demolished the Magic by 29 points, they are a much better team than the Nets. It was the 15th time in 19 games they’ve covered, expect more of the same on Friday vs Brooklyn.
Bulls vs Knicks Best Bet: Over 237.5 (-112)
Opponents are averaging 16.4 threes vs the Bulls in their last 5 games. During this stretch they’ve allowed 145, 129, 125, 131 and 157 points, the effort just isn’t there defensively. So let’s back the points.
Jazz vs Rockets Best Bet: Reed Sheppard Over 3.5 Threes (+106)
Sheppard just went off against the Bucks connecting on 9 threes. He’s shooting almost 42% from downtown in the last 10 games, while against the Jazz that number is at 47.4% in the 3 meetings this season. Utah allows the most threes this season as a team and the 2nd most to opposing Shooting Guards. Good luck containing the Rockets sharpshooter here.
Celtics vs Bucks Best Bet: Celtics -17 (-106)
Winning by 18 is a lot, but the Bucks just don’t have it at the moment. They’re struggling to score – the last 2 meetings vs Boston saw them score just 79 and 81 points. Boston is firing on all cylinders, I just hope they didn’t empty their entire clip in that massive win over Miami the other day.
Raptors vs Grizzlies Best Bet: Brandon Ingram Over 20.5 Points (-130)
He’s averaging 20.7 ppg in the last 10 meetings, the 6 most recent ones have seen him go over this line 4 times. Memphis allows the 2nd most points to opposing Small Forwards this season, staying in front of him will be a tall task for the inexperienced Grizzlies here.
Magic vs Mavericks Best Bet: Mavericks +7 (-110)
19, 25 and 20 turnovers over their last 3 games tell me that the Magic have all but given up on their head coach Jamahl Mosley. Even against a sub-par Mavs team I just cannot trust them. Dallas has won 13 straight home games vs Orlando as well.
Pelicans vs Kings Best Bet: Saddiq Bey Over 2.5 Threes (+130)
Saddiq Bey is still producing despite the recent struggles of the Pelicans. He’s connected on 3 threes in 8 of 10 games which makes this bet one of the more consistent ones at the moment. Sacramento ranks 3rd for threes given up to opposing SFs this season.
