Long-time NBA fan, following the game closely for 21 years now. Joined the Pickswise writing staff for the 2020-21 season and have given out winning picks since. Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. We’ve got 5 more tasty NBA games coming our way this Friday, with the highlight of the night being a Prime Video double-header. The action begins as early as 1:00 pm ET at Madison Square Garden, where the New York Knicks entertain the Philadelphia 76ers. That game will be followed by a massive Western Conference clash in Minnesota between the Timberwolves and Thunder at 9.30 pm ET.

I’ve covered all 5 games with my deep analysis, coming up with a Best Bet for every single match-up. Odds are courtesy of FanDuel, be sure to check our NBA picks for every single. Let’s get into my bets now!

Heat vs Celtics Best Bet: Under 233.5 (-112)

Miami’s 3-point shot has fallen off a cliff in their last 6 games. They Heat are shooting the second-lowest percentage (29.8%), while averaging the lowest amount of 3s (8.8) per game. They won’t score enough to push the total over.

76ers vs Knicks Best Bet: 76ers ML (+162)

Fatigue might be an issue for New York, as it is playing its second game in 2 days after it traveled to and back from Vegas for the NBA Cup. The Sixers last played on Sunday and have a positive road record entering Friday’s game. Tyrese Maxey has also been on a tear; he has scored 30 and 46 points in his last 2 games at MSG. I’m backing the Sixers for the upset.

Spurs vs Hawks Best Bet: Spurs -2.5 (-112)

Trae Young returning makes all the difference for Atlanta in this game. The Hawks’ defense will suffer — last night the Charlotte Hornets dropped 133 points on them. I think we can all agree the Hornets aren’t exactly an elite offense. San Antonio is, so Victor Wembanyama should assert his dominance down low with the Hawks having issues fielding enough big men. I have the Spurs continuing their regular-season winning streak.

Bulls vs Cavaliers Best Bet: Bulls +7.5 (-114)

Neither side has impressed lately, but the Cavs’ 2-4 SU record over the past 6 games has looked far worse than the Bulls. Cleveland is shooting the worst percentage in the NBA from 3 during this stretch at just 28%. Injuries have also decimated the Cavs; it’s unclear if Donovan Mitchell will play due to an illness, while Evan Mobley has already been out with a calf issue. These 2 teams met just a few days ago, when the Bulls pinned 127 points on the Cavs. Let’s hope they can keep things close.

Thunder vs Timberwolves Best Bet: Thunder -8.5 (-108)

For a team that is winning games by an average of 16.5 points, covering as 8.5-point favorites shouldn’t be too much of an ask. The Thunder rolled over the Clippers in their first game since the NBA Cup semifinal loss and their quest for the all-time regular season win record is still very much in play. I don’t think they’ll show any sings of slowing down on Friday. For Minnesota, things could get difficult if Anthony Edwards isn’t able to play. He is questionable with foot issue. OKC has won 8 in a row on the road and is 5-1 ATS in its last 6 games overall.
