Best NBA Bets Today: Odds & Picks for every game on Friday, January 16

Long-time NBA fan, following the game closely for 21 years now. Joined the Pickswise writing staff for the 2020-21 season and have given out winning picks since. Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. It’s always a good day when we get an ESPN doubleheader in the NBA, and Friday is no exception to that rule. Starting at 7:00 pm ET, we have Cavaliers vs 76ers, and that is followed by Timberwolves vs Rockets at 9:30 pm ET. A total of 12 teams are in action this evening, so why not make the most out of it by landing a few bets? After a thorough analysis of all 6 games, I’ve come up with my NBA best bets for every single one of them. You can also find out our experts’ NBA picks for every matchup throughout the entire season!

Pelicans vs Pacers best bet: Pacers -3.5 (108)

Indy has won 3 of 4 games and heads into this one in good spirits. New Orleans won the first meeting by double-digits, so this is an ideal opportunity to even the score. They’ve beaten the Pelicans in 5 straight home games; make it 6 after Friday’s game.

Cavaliers vs 76ers best bet: Donovan Mitchell over 30.5 points (-122)

I’m doubling down on Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers here. He just had 37 points and 7 assists on Wednesday against the 76ers. The last 3 meetings with Philly have seen him average 39.3 points per game.

Clippers vs Raptors best bet: Clippers ML (-134)

The Clippers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA with 11 wins in 13 games. With Kawhi Leonard facing the team he led to its only championship in franchise history, you just know he will want to get one over his former team here.

Bulls vs Nets best bet: Michael Porter Jr. over 3.5 made threes (-140)

Michael Porter Jr. is shooting the three-ball at an outstanding 40.6% clip in his last 10 games, clearing this line 8 times. The Bulls give up the 7th-most threes to opposing small forwards this season, so expect a solid offensive output from MPJ here.

Here’s our Bulls vs Nets prediction

Timberwolves vs Rockets best bet: Timberwolves ML (+140)

Minnesota is the more consistent team right now, as Ant Man and Julius Randle are both playing at an All-Star level. With just 1 win in 5 games and playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back, I cannot trust the Rockets here.

Wizards vs Kings best bet: Kings -7 (-110)

No, you are not dreaming, the Kings actually are 7-point favorites heading into a game. It is against the lowly Washington Wizards, who have lost 4 games in a row by double-digits and are in full on tank mode. Hopefully, the Kings don’t botch this opportunity to push their longest win streak of the season to 4.
