The weekend is almost here and the best way to get ready for it is with a 7-game slate in the NBA. ESPN will have a doubleheader tipping-off at 7:00 pm ET between the Mavericks and Celtics, as Jayson Tatum is rumored to make his regular-season debut. Another big game comes our way in Part 2 of the doubleheader when the Clippers and Spurs lock horns at 9:30 pm ET. I’ve looked through all 7 games and have picked out my NBA best bets for each of them, while you can also get our expert NBA picks for Friday’s slate and every game throughout the entire season.

Mavericks vs Celtics NBA best bet: Jaylen Brown over 6.5 rebounds (-102)
Brown has cleared this line in 8 of 10 games. The Mavericks allow the 4th-most rebounds overall and 7th-most rebounds to opposing Small Forwards. I just hope he doesn’t defer too much to Jayson Tatum, who may make his regular-season debut here.

Heat vs Hornets NBA best bet: Hornets -7.5 (-106)
Charlotte has a chance to take a big step towards catching the 8th seed if they can beat the Heat on Friday night, who are 2 games ahead in the standings. LaMelo and co. have won 6 straight games, all of them by double-digits. The league is on notice after their 118-89 triumph at TD Garden earlier this week.

Trail Blazers vs Rockets NBA best bet: Trail Blazers +6 (-110)
KD and co. just were beat by a Warriors team without Stephen Curry and a bunch of other key players. Portland is up 2-1 in the regular season series, and unlike the Rockets, they’ll be playing with a day of rest in between games here. I have them putting up a decent fight and keeping things close until the very end.
Pelicans vs Suns NBA best bet: Pelicans +6 (-112)
I cannot trust the Suns after witnessing them lose to a struggling Bulls team last night despite having Devin Booker at their disposal. New Orleans also played last night and recorded its 5th win in 7 games overall, while also covering 5 times during this stretch. They’re 4-2 ATS in 6 road games and have 7 wins in 9 games against Western Conference opponents. I’ll go with the road team plus the extra points in this one.

Knicks vs Nuggets NBA best bet: Knicks -1.5 (-112)
The Knicks have had the Nuggets’ number lately, winning 6 of the last 7 meetings and also covering 6 times during this stretch. They overcame a massive triple-double game from Nikola Jokic in the first meeting at MSG, winning in double OT. Denver enters this one having played less than 24 hours ago, while the Knicks had a day of rest in between games. Despite the loss vs OKC the other day, I am very encouraged by what I’m seeing from New York right now, so I’ll go with Brunson and co. to deliver another big win here.

Clippers vs Spurs NBA best bet: Victor Wembanyama over 2.5 assists (-188)
With so many shooters around him, you’d figure getting to 3 assists should be a breeze for Victor Wembanyama. He’s cleared this line in 8 of 10 games, and on the season, he’s at a 65% success rate — clearing this line at home (15/23 games). He enters Friday’s clash on a 5-game streak with at least 3 assists recorded vs the Clippers, as well.
Pacers vs Lakers NBA best bet: Lakers -10.5 (-110)
LA is playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back, and they have 3 wins by double-digits in their last 4 games in this scenario. Indiana has lost 7 straight, including 4 in a row by double-digits. Pascal Siakam is doubtful to play, along with Nembhard and Nesmith. With so many absences the Pacers simply won’t have enough to keep up with the Lakers offense here.
