After we found out the finalists for the NBA Cup last night, we return to regular season action tonight with 8-games on Sunday. Among the teams in action will be the Los Angeles Lakers who will be hoping to close the gap to the 2nd seed in the Western Conference as they take on the Phoenix Suns.
You can find all of our NBA previews here. But for now check out my best bets for each of the days games.
Wizards vs Pacers best bet: Jay Huff over 2.5 blocks (-122)
Pacers center Huff is averaging 3.4 blocks per game to start the month of December and was able to record 4 rejections the last time these sides met. The Wizards are 26th this season in opponent blocks per game and should prove a perfect opponent for the Pacers center to keep his great defensive run going against.
Hornets vs Cavaliers best bet: Over 231.5 (-108)
Evan Mobley is now out for the Cavaliers and without their defensive anchor, their defense could collapse here. The hosts have also been in the top 10 of the league in pace over the last 10 games and that tempo should ensure enough possessions for the Hornets to exploit them.
76ers vs Hawks best bet: 76ers +4.5 (-108)
The Hawks have had issues at home this season, winning just 4 of their 10 games there. Joel Embiid looks to be back in form and is coming into the contest after a 39-point performance. The hosts should struggle to deal with his size so expect him to be able to keep the 76ers competitive here.
Bucks vs Nets best bet: Nets ML (+102)
The Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo here which really impacts their rebounding and scoring tonight. The Nets have Michael Porter Jr. going off in December, with the forward averaging 34.3 points per game. They have won 3 of the last 4 he has played in and should be able to take care of business at home.
Kings vs Timberwolves best bet: Rudy Gobert over 11.5 points (-112)
Gobert has started of December by hitting the over on this line in 4 of his last 5 games, including 2 games of 24 or more points. Over the last 10 games no team in the league has given up more second chance points to opponents than the Kings and with Domantas Sabonis out, the Timberwolves center should dominate here.
Pelicans vs Bulls best bet: Over 248.5 (-110)
When these sides met last month they combined for 273 points. They both have no rim protection and rank 24th and 26th in opponent points in the paint this season. With the Bulls also 2nd in pace, this should turn into a fast, incredibly high scoring game.
Lakers vs Suns best bet: Lakers -1.5 (-110)
The Suns go into this game with both Devin Booker and Dillon Brooks listed as questionable to play. If they take to the floor, this is an even contest. However, if one or more of them are out, they will struggle to match the scoring output of Luka Doncic and LeBron James.
Warriors vs Trail Blazers best bet: Quinten Post 3+ made threes (+190)
Post had started to carve out a bigger role for himself on the Warriors playing over 25 minutes in 4 straight games. Over the last 2 games he has knocked down 9 of 21 3-point attempts and will play a big role in this one as a floor spacer, especially considering the size the Trail Blazers have inside.
