Long-time NBA fan, following the game closely for 21 years now. Joined the Pickswise writing staff for the 2020-21 season and have given out winning picks since. Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. Week 9 of the NBA season wraps up with a 6-game slate this Sunday, with a couple of intriguing matchups as well as an early tip-off for all basketball fans in Europe. Yesterday I went 7-3 on my Saturday Best NBA Bets, we can only hope the solid run continues with Sunday’s slate. The action starts as early as 3.30 pm ET with the Bulls and Hawks squaring off in Atlanta.

I’ve done a deep dive into all 6 games taking place on Sunday and have come up with a Best Bet for every single one of them. Odds are courtesy of FanDuel, be sure to bookmark our NBA Picks page ahead of a busy holiday season. Let’s get into today’s best bets now!

Bulls vs Hawks Best Bet: Hawks -3.5 (-114)

Trae Young is back and although that might not be the best news for the Hawks defense, I still expect them to outgun the Bulls in the early tip. Chicago is on a run of 3 wins in 4 games, but their last 2 wins were against the Cavs who are really struggling right now. Don’t expect a lot of defense here, ultimately Jalen Johnson will prove to be the difference maker.

Heat vs Knicks Best Bet: Knicks -8 (-112)

The loss against Philadelphia was more of a schedule loss than anything for the Knicks. Things should return to normal on Sunday as they face a struggling Heat team. New York is a dominant 14-2 SU/ATS in home games this season, while Miami has just 1 win in 7 games overall. The Knicks have also won 6 meetings in a row at MSG.

Raptors vs Nets Best Bet: Raptors 3.5 (-108)

Despite the Raptors being out of sorts lately, I firmly believe the difference between them and the Nets is more than the projected 3.5 point spread here. They’ve won the last 5 meetings while also covering in 4 of them. Brooklyn is just 6-12 SU in 18 games and has suffered a loss in 12 of 13 games vs Atlantic Division opponents.

Bucks vs Timberwolves Best Bet: Kevin Porter Jr. Over 20.5 Pts (-103)

With Giannis out, Kevin Porter Jr. has the tough task of keeping the Bucks in games. He’s done a solid job scoring the ball this year, averaging 19.6 points per game. In road games that number jumps up to 22.3 per game on 56.8% from the field and 60% from three. Minnesota ranks 2nd for points allowed to opposing PGs this year, count on Porter Jr. to deliver here.

Spurs vs Wizards Best Bet: Victor Wembanyama Over 18.5 Pts (-114)

Wemby is back and filling the box scores once again. He just had a 26 point and 12 rebound performance vs Atlanta off the bench, we could finally see him return to the starting line-up here and I expect another dominant performance vs a lowly Wizards team playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back.

Rockets vs Kings Best Bet: Steven Adams Over 7.5 Rebounds (-146)

Both teams are playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back, the added fatigue might have a negative effect on shot accuracy here which could translate into more rebounding opportunities. Adams has been very consistent with his rebounding, he has cleared this line in 16 of 21 games which is a success rate of 76%. Add in the fact that the Kings allow the most rebounds to opposing centers and you have a winning formula for this bet.
