Best NBA Bets Today: Odds & Picks for every game on Thursday, December 18

Long-time NBA fan, following the game closely for 21 years now. Joined the Pickswise writing staff for the 2020-21 season and have given out winning picks since. Hopefully we can make some money together! Oh, and I firmly believe Lebron James is not one of the two best basketball players of all time. Yeah, I said it. The NBA Cup festivities are behind us and the NBA regular season resumes its normal scheduled program. Thursday night will be a big one with 24 teams hitting the NBA hardwood. The highlight of the night is a clash between the LA Clippers and OKC Thunder starting at 8 pm ET, live on NBA TV.

After doing a complete analysis of all 12 games, I have come up with a bet bet for every single one. Odds are courtesy of FanDuel, we got you covered with NBA Picks for every single NBA game this season. Let’s get into it now!

Hawks vs Hornets Best Bet: Hornets +5.5 (-112)

Charlotte has covered in 8 of 11 H2H meetings. It has been in decent form lately, winning 4 of 8 games. Atlanta has struggled a bit, going 2-4 SU in its last 6 outings.

Knicks vs Pacers Best Bet: Knicks -4 (-112)

New York looks to win a seventh game in a row, and it has also covered in 6 consecutive games going into this one. There might be a slight hangover from their NBA Cup win, but Indiana has just 5 wins in 20 games and should be no match for the Knicks.

Heat vs Nets Best Bet: Under 225.5 (-114)

The under has cashed in 5 straight for Miami. The Nets boast the second-best defensive rating in the NBA over the last 6 outings.

Wizards vs Spurs Best Bet: Under 241.5 (-108)

At some point the Spurs will have to start playing some defense. With Webmy back I feel like they’ll start doing just that, starting with Thursday’s game vs Washington.

Raptors vs Bucks Best Bet: Raptors -5.5 (-108)

The Bucks are still without Giannis. They just lost 127-82 to the Brooklyn Nets, making 8 threes in that game. Although Toronto has lost a bit of its touch from earlier this season,it should still take care of business here.

Clippers vs Thunder Best Bet: Over 220.5 (-110)

An average of 227.3 points per game has been scored in the last 10 meetings, with the over cashing 6 times in the last 9 of those games. OKC has cashed on the over in 5 of 7 overall. I feel more comfortable backing the over than the Thunder to cover.

Rockets vs Pelicans Best Bet: Under 234.5 (-110)

Defense should take the center stage in this matchup. The Rockets and Pels are averaging just 226 points per game in the last 10 H2H, with the under cashing 6 times.

Pistons vs Mavericks Best Bet: Pistons -5.5 (-110)

Detroit is 9-2 SU on the road in 11 games; it has also covered in 5 of 7 meetings vs the Mavs. Cade Cunningham should have his way with the Mavericks defense, especially if rookie Cooper Flagg tries to guard him.

Magic vs Nuggets Best Bet: Magic +7.5 (-110)

Orlando has covered in 7 of 9 meetings. It will look to redeem itself after losing in the NBA Cup semifinals to the Knicks. Denver is coming off a huge OT win over Houston. I have questions regarding the Nuggets’ fatigue levels coming into this game.

Warriors vs Suns Best Bet: Suns ML (+116)

Golden State just wasted a 48-point performance by Stephen Curry. They Dubs will have issues guarding all the Suns’ shooters. Phoenix has won 8 of 13 at home this season and is 14-6 ATS in 20 games against West opponents.

Lakers vs Jazz Best Bet: Jazz +7 (-108)

Utah has covered in 9 of 13 games vs the Lakers. The Jazz are playing at home, where they should feel a lot more comfortable. We just saw them win 5 of 8 games. The last time these 2 met, only 2 points separated them — so it makes way more sense to back the Jazz plus the points.

Kings vs Trail Blazers Best Bet: Over 237.5 (-106)

Don’t expect to see a lot of defense here. The over has cashed in 5 of 7 Portland games and in 10 of its last 13 vs West opponents. Sacramento plays at the ninth-fastest pace, while the Blazers are second only to Miami in that department.
