Thursday brings us only 4 NBA games in total, but that doesn’t mean there will be a shortage of action across the association. The game of the night is in San Antonio where the Spurs entertain the Hawks, looking to win their 3rd game in a row.
NBA TV will have that game live from 8 pm ET. I’ve prepared Best Bets for all 4 games being played tonight, odds are courtesy of FanDuel. As always, we will have NBA Picks for all games being played on Thursday, but now let’s take a deep dive into my Best Bets.
Clippers vs Magic Best Bet: Magic -5.5 (-114)
Orlando has slowly turned things around with 7 wins in 10 games. They have the NBA’s 7th best defensive rating during this stretch, while also ranking 10th in Net Rating (+7). Meanwhile, the Clippers have been hit hard by the injury bug. Right now they are being carried by a 36 year old James Harden, I’m not sure how sustainable that is in the long run. Go with the Magic in this one.
Kings vs Grizzlies Best Bet: Kings ML (+122)
These two have combined to lose 12 games in a row. Both are missing key players due to injuries and neither is going to the postseason this year. I give a slight edge to Sacramento. The injury situation is slightly better with only Sabonis and Keegan Murray being out, plus they are 6-1 SU in 7 meetings with the Grizz.
76ers vs Bucks Best Bet: 76ers -2 (-110)
Even though the 76ers are playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back, I still have to go with them here. Milwaukee is missing Giannis Antetokounmpo, without him their offensive rating drops from 1st to 30th. Sixers have covered in 8 of 12 games, it’s time they finally got one over the Bucks.
Hawks vs Spurs Best Bet: Over 230.5 (-110)
This match-up has produced quite a lot of points over the years – the last 10 meetings have averaged 245.3 points per game with 7 of those games cashing on the over. In games played in San Antonio the over is 5-1 in the last 6, so even though both sides are missing key players due to injuries, I still like this bet. It has cashed in 6 of 9 for San Antonio and in 4 of 5 games for Atlanta.
