76ers guard Tyrese Maxey
Since graduating from Davidson (The College That Stephen Curry Built), I have been writing about sports -- just about any and all you can think of! -- and coaching tennis in Atlanta, GA. Beyond the four major sports, I am an avid tennis fan and cover the ATP Tour on a daily basis. If I'm not busy writing, you can generally find me on a tennis court or traveling the world wherever a sporting event takes me. For Ricky Dimon media enquiries, please email contact@pickswise.com.

The second week of the 2025-26 NBA campaign continues with a 5-game slate on Tuesday night. It includes a double-header on NBC, starting with Knicks vs Bucks before the Warriors host the Clippers.

Make sure you also check out our NBA picks for every game.

76ers vs Wizards best bet: 76ers -4 (-106)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

The Sixers are 3-0 overall and 1-0 on the road, and their win away from home has come at Boston – a good result even if the C’s are without Jayson Tatum. The Wizards are 1-2 overall and 0-1 at home. Philadelphia certainly won’t have any reservations about going into the nation’s capital. VJ Edgecombe, the #3 pick in this year’s draft, has been absolutely outstanding so far – contributing 24.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists per contest.

Hornets vs Heat best bet: Under 241.5 (-112)

Odds available at Bet365 Sportsbook at time of publishing

Although the Heat are scoring a fair amount of points, I’m not prepared to back the over on such a big number – even against the Hornets – when they are without Tyler Herro. The offense cooled off at least somewhat in Miami’s most recent outing against New York this past Sunday, a 115-107 victory. Charlotte has also been putting up its fair share of points, but Brandon Miller left the last game with a shoulder injury and is out for Tuesday. Let’s roll with the under.

Knicks vs Bucks best bet: Bucks ML (+104)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

Are the Bucks good? That remains to be seen, but they are 2-1 and their only loss has come by 5 points on the road against Cleveland – arguably the best team in the Eastern Conference. Giannis Antetokounmpo has led his team in points, rebounds and assists in all 3 games, but it’s not like he isn’t getting any help. Six other Bucks are averaging in double-figures and Myles Turner is averaging 9.3 ppg, 6.3 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.3 bpg. The Knicks are 0-1 on the road and in the midst of a 3-game trip.

Kings vs Thunder best bet: Thunder -10.5 (-110)

Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing

Beginning a 4-game road trip in Oklahoma City does not seem like a favorable spot for the Kings. They are 0-1 on the road so far this season (lost at Phoenix) and will probably be 0-2 with room to spare after Tuesday. The Thunder (4-0) look like they could be on their way to a second straight NBA title and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (40.0 ppg) is playing the kind of basketball that would bring him a second MVP Award in a row.

Clippers vs Warriors best bet: Warriors ML (-102)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing

The Warriors are playing the second leg of a back-to-back situation, but I can’t trust the Clippers away from home. Los Angeles’ only road game of the season to date resulted in a 21-point loss at Utah. Moreover, Golden State is one of the toughest places to play and the Warriors did not have to use too much energy in a rout of the Grizzlies on Monday night.
