There are just four more days left in the NBA regular season and things are heating up in the race for Playoff positioning. A total of 14 teams are in action on Wednesday and ESPN has a tasty double-header coming our way. The Hawks and Cavs clash at 1 pm ET, while the Trial Blazers and Suns follow it up at 9.30 pm ET.
I’ve prepared my NBA Best Bets for all the games being played, you can find them below. As always, odds are courtesy of FanDuel. Our NBA analysts will also have their NBA Picks for Wednesday’s slate, but let’s go over my selections first!
Timberwolves vs Magic Best Bet: Magic -6 (-110)
For Minnesota it makes no difference win or lose here, they’re almost guaranteed to finish in the 6th seed. Without Ant Man and Jaden McDaniels I can’t see them getting a result. Orlando has put together a decent run of 4 wins in 5 games, including 3 straight. They’ve not been the most consistent of teams this year, but I feel like this is a solid spot for them to add to their win streak against a shorthanded T’Wolves side.
Hawks vs Cavaliers Best Bet: Cavaliers -1.5 (-110)
This the first of a home-and-home mini series between the Hawks and Cavaliers, I anticipate the home team winning on both occasions. Cleveland has been on fire in home games lately winning 11 of 14, their offense will be too much to handle even for the high scoring Hawks. Donovan Mitchell skipped the Grizzlies game to be ready for this one, he’s averaging 39.5 points in 2 meetings with Atlanta this year.
Bucks vs Pistons Best Bet: Pistons -18.5 (-110)
The difference in quality is massive here. Detroit could also get Cade Cunningham back, he has been upgraded to questionable following recovery from his collapsed lung injury. Milwaukee is going nowhere, it would be better for them if they tanked the last few games of the season anyway. Back Detroit.
Trail Blazers vs Spurs Best Bet: Over 234.5 (-106)
No Wembanyama potentially for the Spurs here, that should open things up in terms of Portland getting to the basket. Thankfully the Spurs have enough offense to respond, so expect a high scoring game unlike the first two meetings earlier in the year.
Grizzlies vs Nuggets Best Bet: Grizzlies +22.5 (-112)
Memphis actually beat the Nuggets the last time they met, but this time around they are 22.5 point underdogs. That’s a bit too much even for a team like Denver to cover. Nuggets ultimately win, but the Grizz keep it somewhat close.
Mavericks vs Suns Best Bet: Suns -10.5 (-114)
Phoenix is incentivized way more to win here, given they’ve not yet wrapped up the 7th seed. For Dallas it makes way more sense to lose, in order to stay below the Grizzlies in the West standings. Cooper Flagg will likely put up numbers again, but the Suns get the important W.
Thunder vs Clippers Best Bet: Thunder -7.5 (-108)
This isn’t your typical 2nd night of a back-to-back scenario for the Thunder, as they just blew out the Lakers last night with SGA playing 28 mins which was the most out of all the starters. They are one of the deepest teams in the league, I don’t anticipate them running into (m)any issues vs LA here. OKC won the first two meetings by 19 and 21 points.
