Best NFL Prop bets for Sunday Night Football

The tight NFC West could open up a bit more on Sunday night as the last-place 49ers, still far from out of it at 2-3, host the 4-1 Rams. Jimmy Garoppolo will start at quarterback for San Francisco after being benched last week, but won’t have an easy time against one of the best defensive units in the league.

These are our three best player prop bets for this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football.

Jimmy Garoppolo Under 241.5 Passing Yards

Garoppolo is clearly not himself. After missing two games with an ankle injury, he was benched after an uncharacteristically poor performance midway through the 49ers’ loss to the Dolphins last week. While coach Kyle Shanahan said that the benching was injury-related, no matter the reason, he didn’t look good. If he still isn’t 100%, don’t expect him to have anything close to a breakout day against Jalen Ramsey and the Los Angeles secondary.

Raheem Mostert Over 72.5 Rushing Yards

With concerns about Garoppolo’s health and performance, look for the 49ers to run the ball more than usual, especially after last week’s game. The Rams’ pass defense is second-best in the entire league, but their run defense, while still not a weakness, is also not top-tier. Mostert ran for 90 yards against the Dolphins and the 49ers have made clear that he’s their number-one back, receiving more touches than Jerick McKinnon. Mostert should hit another high total in this one.

Cooper Kupp Over 5.5 Receptions

It’s no secret that Kupp is Jared Goff’s favorite target. While Robert Woods is often the choice for the big play, Kupp can create separation throughout the entire field. He’s had at least five catches in each of his last four games, including a season-high nine against the Bills in Week 3. There’s no reason to believe that Goff will be looking anywhere else on Sunday night, preferring to keep the ball moving down the field at a steady pace – and there’s no better receiver for that in the game than Kupp.
