I’m back again with more NHL picks for today, and this time it’s today’s NHL mega parlay. I lost my first prop pick of the season in Monday’s article, bringing my total to 5-1, so I’m hoping that success will translate to betting on the games themselves too.

I’ve identified 3 selections as my favorite NHL parlay picks today, so let’s jump right into my favorite plays of today’s slate.

Canadiens vs Red Wings over 6.5 (-120)

Blackhawks +1.5 (-113)

Penguins vs Kings under 6.5 (+115)

NHL Parlay Odds: +643

Canadiens vs Red Wings over 6.5 (-120)

The first game I want to highlight takes place in Detroit, where the Red Wings play host to the Montreal Canadiens. Montreal sports one of the league’s worst defensive units, ranking 27th and 29th respectively in goals allowed (3.5) and shots allowed (34.9) per game. While the Canadiens offense isn’t great, they’ve at least managed 3+ goals in 4 of their last 6 games.

Detroit is not among the NHL’s best defensively either, allowing 3.2 goals (18th in league) and 31 shots (15th) per contest. Where the Red Wings have made their mark is on the attack, as they boast the NHL’s 7th-best offense from a per-game goal scoring standpoint (3.7). The over has been the result in 9 of the Red Wings’ 13 games this campaign, while also hitting in 5 of the Canadiens’ last 7.

Blackhawks +1.5 over Lightning (-113)

Next, I’ll turn my attention to the Chicago Blackhawks vs Tampa Bay Lightning matchup. These teams are on polar opposite ends of the spectrum, with the Lightning having double the number of points of the Blackhawks. However, recent performances suggest that this contest may be closer than expected.

Chicago has wins in 2 of its last 4 outings, including one over the mighty Las Vegas Golden Knights. Tampa Bay, meanwhile, has dropped 3 of its last 5, giving up at least 4 goals in all but one of those contests. Whether the Blackhawks can pull off the upset is another question, but they should be able to at least keep this one within striking distance.

Penguins vs Kings under 6.5 (+115)

The final leg of this NHL mega parlay involves the Pittsburgh Penguins vs Los Angeles Kings game. Both squads have played stellar defensively so far this campaign, especially recently. Pittsburgh ranks inside the top 10 in the NHL in goals surrendered (2.8, 7th) and shots allowed (28.8, 9th) per game. They’ve given up 2 or fewer goals in 3 of their last 5 games, including 2 shutouts.

LA has been even better on defense. The Kings boast the league’s 6th-best unit from a goals surrendered per game perspective (2.8), and are 3rd in shots allowed (27.4). None of their last 4 opponents has managed more than 2 goals, and the under was the result in each of those matchups. The under holds a 4-2-1 record for the Penguins over their last 7 games as well.
