I've been a capper since my love for sports met my proficiency with numbers and math. The NFL and NCAAF have always been my first loves, followed by the NHL. Although I prefer sports that involve hitting people, I still love capping MLB, soccer, tennis, and even some esports. Living in Florida has its perks like year-round sports of any kind. There are just 4 NHL teams on the ice tonight and admittedly, there couldn’t be tougher matchups for player props. Let’s look at each squad in action:

Washington Capitals: 9th-fewest goals allowed per game; 9th-fewest shots allowed per game

Toronto Maple Leafs: 7th-fewest goals allowed per game; 6th-fewest shots allowed per game

Boston Bruins: Fewest goals allowed per game; 7th-fewest shots allowed per game

Carolina Hurricanes: 6th-fewest goals allowed per game; Fewest shots allowed per game

We outline that to make sure you play cautiously tonight, and perhaps scale back your stakes. Regardless, we’re still here to dig deep for you and find a good spot for a strong play tonight, so let’s check it out.

Brad Marchand over 0.5 assists (-105)

Don’t look now, but the Bruins are in panic mode. Obviously we kid, but the best team in hockey did just lose back-to-back games. However, that just means now they’re only barely on pace to set the single-season record in wins and points! We’re targeting them because player props have much better pricing for road teams and Boston has been matchup-proof this season. Although they’re facing the 2nd-best team in the Eastern Conference tonight in the Carolina Hurricanes, the Bruins have been the most trustworthy team this year.

That’s largely due to the MVP-caliber season of David Pastrnak, and he has Brad Marchand right alongside him. Marchand was set to miss the first part of the season and return in December. However, he said no thank you and  was back as soon as October 27. He’s been a points machine even before this stellar season for the Bruins and his 46 through 41 games this year proves that. Of those 46 points, 30 have been assists, which is no surprise given Pastrnak’s incredible 38 goals. They linked up against the stout defense of the Hurricanes earlier in the year, and can do so again tonight to get back on track.
