Best player props for Sunday's NHL slate: Crosby coming off of a 4-point night

Pittsburgh Penguins' Sidney Crosby (87) celebrates his goal against the Ottawa Senators with Bryan Rust during the second period of an NHL hockey game in Pittsburgh, Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022

There are five games tonight, we’re going to take a deeper dive into two of the matchups and choose two player props we think will provide good value and will have a great chance of hitting. Games are starting at 1:00 pm ET and the final game of the night starts at 10:00 pm ET.

Sidney Crosby over 1.5 points (+140)

Sidney Crosby is in the middle of one of his vintage hot streaks where he takes complete control of hockey games. He is riding a four-game point streak where he has seven points over those four games. He is coming off a four-point outing against the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Pittsburgh Penguins as a team are firing on all cylinders right now, as they are 15-2 in their last 17 games. I expect their hot streak will continue. With the return of Evgeni Malkin, some of the pressure is taken off of Crosby’s line and it allows them to have some more favorable matchups against teams who aren’t as deep at the center ice position, such as the Winnipeg Jets. Look for Crosby to take advantage of this. The Jets as a team are struggling right now, and also will be on the second half of a back-to-back. They will have their backup goalie in the net, Eric Comrie. The Penguins should be able to dominate the scoring in this game, and Crosby will more than likely play a large part in all of their scoring. Take Crosby to record two or more points.

Anthony Duclair over 0.5 points (-167)

Anthony Duclair is quietly having a very good season with the Florida Panthers. He is being overshadowed by the elite top end talent on the Panthers such as Jonathan Huberdeau and Aleksander Barkov. Duclair has 32 points in 33 games this season. Duclair has seven points in his last five games. He is currently riding shotgun on the Panthers top line with Jonathan Huberdeau, who is an assist machine and is producing points at a rapid pace. Duclair also has a spot in a prime shooting position on the Panthers top powerplay unit, which is very lethal. The Panthers were limited to just one regulation goal in their last game against the Vancouver Canucks, and for a team that is averaging 4.02 goals per game, this is more than likely to change against a much weaker Seattle Kraken team. Look for the Panthers to have a monster game offensively, and if such is the case, Duclair to record at least a point should cash without a sweat.
