Andrei Svechnikov over 0.5 points (-125)

These are great odds for Andrei Svechnikov to record a point tonight. He’s one of the best players on the already stacked Carolina Hurricanes roster, he’s currently sitting second in team scoring. He has 28 points in 32 games this season, and seven points in his last six games. He’s an incredible talent and for some reason, he’s been heavily undervalued for tonight’s game. Tuuka Rask will be making his second start of the season, and unfortunately for him, he’ll be going up against one of the best teams in the entire league.

Svechnikov is averaging nearly 3.5 shots per game and he has one of the more lethal wrist shots in the entire league. In the last 10 games, the Hurricanes are averaging 3.8 goals per game. If they can have a four goal performance, Svechnikov will likely be in the mix tonight. Don’t overthink this one. Svechnikov has been playing at nearly a point per game pace this season and has been averaging more than a point per game since the NHL pause. Take him to record a point tonight.

Elias Pettersson over 0.5 points (-125)

Elias Pettersson and the Canucks are coming off of a major win. Pettersson recorded two goals in a 4-2 victory and he may finally be turning the corner this season. In his rookie season, Pettersson impressed the hockey world with 66 points in 71 games. He was an elite player for the first three years of his career, this is the first season his capabilities have been questioned. With a new head coach, Pettersson has started to look more and more like his old self. Now that he’s coming off of a two goal game, he may finally be getting his swagger back. The Canucks are one game away from getting back to a .500 win percentage, so they are going to have the entire team pulling for a victory.

This is the tail end of a back to back for the Predators tonight, which should bode well for the Canucks. Backup goaltender David Rittich will be starting in the net tonight for the Preds. He is posting a 3.04 GAA and .884 SVP, which aren’t the best backup numbers. If Pettersson can manage to have a solid game tonight, he’ll likely get on the scoreboard with Rittich in the net. Take him to record over 0.5 points tonight.
