BetsByBob March Madness Tournament Finals Pick and Prediction: Not the shootout most are expecting

Well, we have finally made it to the end. It is bittersweet, and after such a successful season betting college basketball, I am sad to see it come to an end.

However, if I were to pick one last game to close out the season, it would undoubtedly be this one. After watching what was most likely the best college basketball game I have seen in a long time, it will be hard to overcome the drama that ensued in the Gonzaga and UCLA matchup. Nonetheless, I can’t be more excited for this game, and I am looking forward to another hopefully memorable game.

Baylor Bears vs. Gonzaga Bulldogs Total Under 159.5

The matchup everyone has been waiting for. It’s not too often that we have the best two teams in college basketball meeting up in the finals, but we are lucky enough to have it here. The number one and number two offenses in the country scream over for most, but I am going the other way here. Baylor gets a ton of credit for how well they play defense, and they do. Their guards are great on-ball defenders, and Mark Vital is great at stopping opponents in the lane.

On the contrary, what gets often overlooked is that Gonzaga is actually a higher-ranked defensive team than Baylor. Both teams are elite on offense, and that goes without question. But in a national title game, the pressure will be on, and the things you can control when shots aren’t going in is your defense. 160 points feels a tad high here, and I have this being more like an 80-75 kind of game. Points will be scored, but we stay under a high total here.
