The Toronto Blue Jays won Game 5 and now hold a 3-2 series lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers in the World Series. Friday night’s battle could result in a new champion crowned, or we could be seeing a Game 7. With the world fired up to watch tonight’s game, let’s dive in and preview the first inning of Game 6!

YRFI/NRFI Best Bet: Blue Jays vs Dodgers – YRFI (+110)

Odds available at FanDuel Sportsbook at time of publishing. Playable to +100.

I will start by reminding you to price shop, as always. DraftKings is holding a -110 price on the YRFI for this game while FanDuel is dangling a +110 price. 20 cents is obviously a massive shift and if you prefer the NRFI in this matchup then make sure to find the best price. Game 6 is set to be an instant classic tonight with the Blue Jays a game away from the World Series crown, and the Dodgers looking to force a deciding Game 7. Toronto has executed exceptionally well this postseason, and they are well positioned for a title as a result. That being said I think this Dodgers offense is fully capable of striking early Friday night.

In Game 2, L.A. did score within the first inning against Kevin Gausman. Freddie Freeman registered a 2-out double and Will Smith stepped up to drive him home with a single. The fact Shohei Ohtani didn’t even get on base and Los Angeles still scored shows the potential of this lineup at any given moment. There are multiple power sources capable of going yard, and Gausman did allow 2 home runs in Game 2. Gausman thrives off his splitter, but the Dodgers should have increased familiarity against that offering given their matchup just 6 days ago. I do like the odds on the Dodgers to score within the first inning, but once again shop around for the best price.

Toronto is also a dangerous offense that is fully capable of striking early on within games. Yoshinobu Yamamoto is likely the reason we get this +110 YRFI price today, however. Yamamoto is an exceptional top-end starter already in this league, and his performance in Game 2 was remarkable. The right-hander tossed a complete game with only 1 earned run surrendered in that outing. He allowed just 4 base runners with 8 Ks and appeared to have more left in the tank. That was his second consecutive complete game this postseason, though, and he has now surpassed 200 innings on the season. Toronto has talent throughout their lineup, and I am interested to see how they deal with Guererro to start the game. At +100 or better, I lean toward the YRFI in Game 6.
