CLE Cavaliers Money Line (+122)
New York made it to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2024-25 season and though we have not played a minute of basketball, the discussion here is can the Knicks get to the Finals this season finally? Cleveland we remind everyone was the top seed in the East, last season, but no one is talking about them. It would go against conventional wisdom to back the Cavaliers here perhaps and even go as far as to suggest that they can win this game outright. But is that really absurd? The Cavs have the perimeter shooting threat that can give New York fits and when this team fires on all cylinders, they can light it up quick. Wouldn’t be all that crazy if Cleveland swoops in and steals a win? Not by the least, Cleveland has won 5 of 6 meetings, they’re 5-1 ATS in those 6 games and have covered in 5 of 6 on the road dating back to last season. I’ll be taking the Cavs on the road here.

Karl-Anthony Towns to Record 10+ Rebounds (-194)
Together with Jalen Brunson, KAT is expected to be the leader of this Knicks squad as they try to make the next step as a team after back-to-back deep postseason runs. Starting off the year will be crucial; I’m hoping KAT picks up right where he left off after averaging 21.4 points and 11.6 rebounds per game in the postseason for New York. Towns really elevated his rebounding game last year going from 8.3 rebounds per game to a staggering 12.8 per game following his move from Minnesota. The Knicks are once again thin at the center position with Mitchell Robinson being questionable for this game, that could open the door or KAT to have a big game on the boards. Facing a player like Jarrett Allen down low is never easy, but Towns has collected double digit rebounds in 3 of the last 4 meetings with the Cavaliers. He has cashed on this bet in 8 of his last 10 games overall, with Cleveland allowing the 11th most rebounds to opposing PFs last season I think Towns will be able to keep them off the glass in this one.
De’Andre Hunter 3+ Made Threes (+126)
The Knicks weren’t particularly good when it came to guarding the perimeter against opposing small forwards last season. They ranked just 10th out of 30 teams for threes allowed to opposing SFs, during the offseason they failed to address those issues so I’m looking at De’Andre Hunter to make an impact on this game. There’s just something that gets Hunter going when playing at MSG, he’s scored over 20 points in his last 3 visits there as a member of the Atlanta Hawks. He isn’t the first player to be extra motivated when playing in the World’s most famous arena, Hunter has particularly done well from the three-point line averaging 3.2 makes in the last 5 meetings with the Knicks, while shooting an impressive 61.5%. The absences of Darius Garland and Max Strus mean that the Cavaliers will have to dig deep into their rotation to find players to make up for the shots those two would have made, Hunter is the perfect player to potentially explode in this game. He has had some knee issues in preseason, but should be ready to play here. If anything, that might make him hang around the perimeter more as opposed to risking further injury while driving to the basket. I’m banking on the 27-year to make his mark in the Cavs’ season opener.
