It promises to be a spicy rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference semi-finals as the New York Knicks host the Boston Celtics at Madison Square Garden.
Prime Video brings us the tip-off at 7.30 pm. Following last night’s +400 Same Game Parlay winner, I’ve come up with another bet at +442 odds. We got you covered with NBA Picks for the entire NBA season, let’s get into my SGP bet!
Mikal Bridges 2+ Made Threes (-162)
Jaylen Brown 2+ Made Threes (-113)
Derrick White to Score 20+ Points (-128)
Same Game Parlay odds: +442
Mikal Bridges 2+ Made Threes (-162)
Getting off to a hot start in the 1st quarter was one of the keys for New York in their first win of the season vs Cleveland. Bridges led the attack early by scoring all four of his attempts en route to 10 points. Although he scored only 6 points the rest of the way, it was still a very decent output from one of the better two-way players in the league. There’s really no pressure on Bridges from an offensive standpoint as he is only the 4th scoring option behind Brunson, KAT and Anunoby. Boston led the league last season holding opponents to the lowest percentage of shooting from downtown, we saw them struggle in that department against the 76ers who knocked down 40% of their attempts. Until they get their bearings set in this new Tatum-less system, I feel like opponents will be taking advantage of them. Bridges is averaging 1.7 made threes per game in 10 meetings against them, the last time these two teams played he erupted for 22 points in just 30 mins while knocking down 4 threes.
Jaylen Brown 2+ Made Threes (-113)
Jaylen Brown is slowly adapting to his new role as the number one scoring option on this Celtics squad in Jayson Tatum’s absence. He had a solid season debut against the Philadelphia 76ers, at least from an individual standpoint scoring 25 points. He was an efficient 50% from the field and also knocked down 2 of 4 three point attempts. I’m looking for him to continue being productive on Friday in Madison Square Garden as the Cs aim to win their first game of the season. New York ranked 22nd in the league in opponent field goal percentage last year, allowing teams to shoot 36.4%. New head coach Mike Brown will certainly hope to improve on that mark this season, however the Knicks didn’t do well in their first game of the year allowing Cleveland to shoot 41.3% from downtown. Brown has had at least 20 points in his past two visits to MSG, plus he’s cashed on this line 5 times in a row against the Celtic. Let’s hope those streaks continue on Friday.
Derrick White to Score 20+ Points (-128)
White is one of the more reliable players in the NBA. He didn’t have the best of opening nights efficiency wise going just 7-for-20 from the field in the loss to Philadelphia, but he did score 25 points in the end and was the leading scorer for his team along with Jaylen Brown. Those two should exchange at the top of the points leaderboard for the Cs all year long as they look to survive without their superstar Tatum who is still out with his Achilles injury. White had just 8 points in the last game against the Knicks as his team got eliminated in the Playoffs, that’ll certainly be a motivating factor as Boston heads into New York looking for revenge. Over his last 10 outings vs this team, White is averaging just shy of 20 points at 19.5 per game and that’s with Tatum playing most of those games. With him out of the picture, White now automatically becomes the 2nd scoring option and I believe he will fulfil that role to the fullest on Friday night.
