The time has come once again where college football fans all over the globe are ready to kick off another season – Welcome to the beginning of a new Mid-American Conference campaign. On Saturday, September 7th the second week of MAC college football picks will begin as Pickswise, the home of free College Football MAC Picks will dive into each game.

Kennesaw State Owls vs. Kent State Golden Flashes

Against The Spread Pick

This was supposed to be a better year for Kent State, and this will be their first chance to prove it against a Kennesaw State Owls team that has all kinds of confidence. The Owls are coming into this game off a 59-0 victory but it was against an NAIA level school. The Golden Flashes are coming off a 30-7 loss against Arizona State. I think at home Kent State can show they have improved, and take the win, but it’s only a lean because they haven’t proven that much in the past.

Over Under Pick

This is a total I would stay away from because this is basically a new game for each team. We don’t know what Kent State’s offense can do, and we don’t know what Kennesaw State can do against a decent defense that isn’t in the NAIA. It’s a lean to the over because of Kennesaw State did in week one, but I would not bet this total.

Fordham Rams vs. Ball State Cardinals

Against The Spread Pick

The Ball State Cardinals lost their opening game against the Indiana Hoosiers but they looked good holding their own against a very good team. At quarterback, the Cardinals are led by Drew Plitt who was strong in game one throwing for 298 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. The Rams defense showed holes in game one, and I expect Plitt is going to have a huge game in this one. Back the Cardinals to get the job done winning this game and covering the spread.

Over Under Pick

The first game of the season isn’t much to go on in terms of the total in this game, but neither of these teams was involved in super high scoring games last year. The Cardinals’ defense is going to be strong in this game, and I don’t think the Rams will be scoring many points in this game. I don’t love this total but play the under to get the job done.

Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles vs. Miami (OH) RedHawks

Against The Spread Pick

This is a side play that I would stay far away from. I am not comfortable laying a big number with the Redhawks, but I am also not so sure the Golden Eagles can cover the spread. The Golden Eagles did just put up 59 points in their last game, so I think they do have just enough offense to keep this game close enough to cover the spread. It’s a lean but back the Golden Eagles plus the points.

Over Under Pick

The Golden Eagles put up 59 points in game one, but they also gave up 58. I know the game ended in overtime, but this was still a high paced game filled with lots of scoring. For the Redhawks they were able to get up 14 points against a good Hawkeyes defense and against the Golden Eagles, they should have no issue running up the score. This is going to be a high scoring shootout, and 60 minutes just isn’t enough. Back the over to cash in this one.
