DFS NFL Week 17 Must-Start Players

Carson Wentz playing quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles

This week is one of the hardest weeks to project as there are teams that will be resting players either because they are out of the playoff race or they have already locked up their playoff seeding. As a result, it’s best to target players on teams that are playing for playoff spots or positioning and avoid those who aren’t. This article deals with the top quarterback, running back, and wide receiver plays for week 17 that are must-start players on both FanDuel and DraftKings. Let’s begin by looking at the top quarterback in DFS for week 17 of the NFL season.

Carson Wentz Locks up the Eagles as NFC East Champions

The quarterback that has the most to play for this week in the NFL is Carson Wentz of the Eagles. The Eagles are playing to lock up the final spot in the NFC for the playoffs and the NFC East championship. Wentz will be going up against the Giants secondary that has been one of the worst in the NFL this season. New York enters this game, allowing the 7th most passing yards per game and the 7th most yards per attempt. This game is one of our NFL Picks to go over the total, and the Eagles passing game is a significant reason for that.

Mike Boone has a Nice Week Following a Disappointing One in DFS

A lot of fantasy owners were left having to start Boone following the news of Cook and Mattison being out for the game against the Packers. However, expectations were a little high for Boone in that game, and the Packers have one of the NFL’s better defenses. This week the Vikings are expected to rest the majority of their key players, which means Cook and Mattison are highly unlikely to play against the Bears. Mike Boone is a value option this week in DFS, given his low-price tag, and I look for a lot of people to be off of him following the disappointing game against the Packers. Boone allows us to pay up for some of the more prominent names in DFS for week 17.

Davante Adams has Monster Game in DFS

The Packers offense is built around three players this season. Aaron Rodgers, Aaron Jones, and Davante Adams are the three most significant fantasy assets from the Packers offense, and the rest are all underwhelming this season. The Packers are playing for the 1 seed in the NFC or, at worst, the two seed with a win against the Lions. The Lions have one of the NFL’s worst secondaries this season. Detroit is allowing 282.53 passing yards per game, which is the most in the NFL this season. I look for Adams to have a monster game against the Lions on Sunday.
