Many expected PSG and Atletico Madrid to run riot in Group B but, after 2 games, it is Botafogo who are leading the way. The Brazilians followed up their opening 2-1 victory over Seattle with a stunning 1-0 win against the Parisians and they may not be done with surprising Europe’s elite just yet. Atleti were routed 4-0 by PSG in their opener and were not all too convincing in their 3-1 victory over Seattle last time, allowing the Sounders to rack up a respectable 1.5 expected goals in that defeat. Botafogo, meanwhile, were defensively excellent against the European champions, limiting PSG to just 2 shots on target, and they may be able to frustrate another giant here.

Inter Miami vs Palmeiras predictions: Palmeiras ML (+110)

Javier Mascherano’s early reign at Inter Miami has been a disappointment and a 0-0 tie with Al Ahly to start the Club World Cup campaign was far from ideal, but he will have got many supporters back on board by leading his side to a shock 2-1 win over Porto. Miami needed some Lionel Messi free-kick magic to secure that victory, though, and the feel-good factor at Inter may be short-lived, with Palmeiras likely to prove far too strong for Mascherano’s men in their final group game. The Brazilians should have beaten Porto in their opener – they had 2.08 expected goals to the Portuguese side’s 0.78 – and were flawless when beating Al Ahly to make it 16 wins in 20 games since March.
