Club World Cup group winner best bet: Palmeiras to win Group A (+185)

Group A is arguably the most wide open in this year’s Club World Cup, with underdogs Al Ahly only +900 to win the group. Porto are the favorites but only finished 3rd in the Portuguese league last season and did not make any major impression in the Europa League. Palmeiras may have finished as runners-up in the Brazilian Serie A last season but they won it in 2022 and 2023 and could have a big say at this tournament. The Big Green were runners-up in this competition back in 2021 and could top this group ahead of Porto, Inter Miami and Al Ahly.

Club World Cup group winner prediction: Atletico Madrid to win Group B (+150)

Atletico Madrid could not quite keep up with Real Madrid and Barcelona in the La Liga title race but they still have an impressive squad that could get the better of Paris Saint-Germain to top Group B. PSG won the Champions League recently but that will have taken plenty out of their squad and this quick return to action is not in their favor, with fatigue likely to be an issue. Botafogo and Seattle Sounders look unlikely to get involved in the battle to win this group and it may be worth siding with outsiders Atleti to produce a small shock and top the section.

Club World Cup group prediction: Monterrey to finish bottom of Group E (+110)

Monterrey qualified for the Club World Cup based on their CONCACAF Champions League win in 2021 but they look unlikely to make a big impact at this tournament. The Mexican team is currently some way off the pace in Liga MX and many of their stars are beginning to age. Champions League runners-up Inter Milan and Argentina giants River Plate look set to battle it out for the Group E title so it may be between Monterrey and Urawa Red Diamonds to avoid finishing in last place. The Japanese club finished 4th in the Club World Cup 2 seasons ago and may relegate the Rayados to last place.
