The French Open gets underway on Sunday and the tennis season’s second Grand Slam promises to be extremely intriguing on the women’s side. Nobody has better than +225 odds to win the title, as Iga Swiatek has been struggling of late and her reign at Roland Garros may be coming to an end – at least temporarily. At the same time, 4 women have odds of +600 or better to lift La Coupe Suzanne Lenglen.
Let’s take a look at the outright odds and discuss some of the best bets to make.

French Open tennis 3-star best bet: Coco Gauff (+600)
The only thing not to like about Gauff is that she can sometimes play a bad match and lose to a much lower-ranked player from out of nowhere. But that isn’t of grave concern on the outright market – I just wouldn’t be inclined to back her as a massive money line favorite in a single match. The value is on her outright odds, as the 21-year-old American can be the best player in the world when she gets on a heater. Gauff already proved it with the 2023 U.S. Open title, plus she is a former French Open runner-up (2022). The world #2 heads into the upcoming fortnight in outstanding form, having reached the final in both Madrid and Rome. As if that isn’t enough, Gauff has an outstanding draw opposite Sabalanke and Swiatek in the bracket.
French Open tennis 2-star best bet: Mirra Andreeva (+600)
Not many well-known players are younger than Gauff, but Andreeva is – by 3 years, in fact. Nonetheless, the Russian prodigy is already among the best on tour. At 18 years old, she is already up to #6 in the world. Her 2025 campaign features back-to-back 1000-point titles in Dubai and Indian Wells. The only tier higher than that are Grand Slams, and Andreeva may be ready to take that next step right here and right now. Although her clay-court swing has been unspectacular, she at least managed to reach the quarterfinals in both Madrid and Rome – and on both occasions it was only Gauff who managed stop her. It wouldn’t be a big surprise if no one stops her in Paris.
French Open tennis 1-star best bet: Jasmine Paolini (+1600)
Gauff and Andreeva are both sitting pretty in the bracket, as they would go head-to-head in the semis and would avoid Sabalenka or Swiatek until the championship match. Paolini finds herself on the tougher side of the draw, but it may not matter. For a relative longshot play, Paolini looks like the move to make. Although Swiatek is a potential quarterfinal foe for the Italian, there is chance that the struggling Pole doesn’t even make it that far. She could run into Marta Kostyuk in the third round and either Elena Rybakina or Jelena Ostapenko in the fourth. Meanwhile, Paolini is coming off a title in Rome and she went all the way to the Roland Garros title match in 2024. She is an absolute force on clay, so a first-ever slam triumph in Paris would make sense.
