Among all of the conference realignment, coaching changes, and transfer portal chaos, some things across the college football landscape have remained constant. One of those things is the mutual success of Alabama and Georgia in the SEC, as the Tide and the Bulldogs will meet for a conference title for the 4th time in Kirby Smart’s tenure. In fact, these programs combine to make up 11 of the last 12 SEC Champions.
Being a battle of familiar foes likely playing for a first-round bye in the College Football Playoff, I put together an SEC Championship Same Game Parlay – courtesy of FanDuel Sportsbook – consisting of my favorite bets in this matchup. Let’s get into the picks, and don’t forget to check the rest of our NCAAF predictions throughout Championship Weekend and bowl season.
Under 48.5 (-114)
Daniel Hill (ALA) Anytime TD (+105)
SEC Championship Same Game Parlay odds: +366
Georgia Bulldogs vs. Alabama Crimson Tide Under 48.5 (-114)
With a full postseason ahead, Georgia and Alabama plan to play at least 3 more games after this one in a quest to win a national championship. I expect that to be a driving force in deploying a methodical approach to this game, despite the conference championship ramifications. Having said that, the Bulldogs and the Crimson Tide already operate with a deliberate pace of play, mutually ranking outside the top 100 in that category. Neither is overly explosive, either. Occasional big plays will be found, though a majority of the action should be in the short-to-intermediate range not only because of the offensive playstyles, but because both of these defenses excel at limiting plays of 20 yards or more.

Daniel Hill (ALA) Anytime Touchdown (+105)
Trying to thread the needle between an under and a touchdown prop can be intimidating, but the lack of correlation actually helps boost the odds of our bet. As such, I’m including Daniel Hill as the second and final leg of this SGP.
There has been an uptick in Hill’s usage as the season has progressed. He didn’t even play in Athens when these teams first met in September, but he has become an integral part of the offense of late. Hill has scored 5 touchdowns in Alabama’s last 6 games, and was given double-digit carries against Oklahoma and Auburn – 2 games that ended up being very close. More notably, he was given a vast majority of the carries in the red zone and on the goal line in both of those games, which is exactly what I want to see when betting on a running back in what projects to be a methodical, low-scoring game.
