The last US event of the year comes from Tiburon Golf Club in Naples, Florida, which hosts the 3rd edition of the Grant Thornton Invitational. Previously the QBE Shootout, the tournament rebranded as a mixed PGA Tour-LPGA pairs competition from 2023, when the all-Antipodean team of Jason Day and Lydia Ko took the title, before Jake Knapp and Patty Tavatanakit pulled off a surprise 12 months ago. The 54-hole tournament features a Friday scramble, Saturday foursomes and Sunday modified fourballs. Scoring is always ultra low with the winning teams reaching 26 and 27 under par in the first two editions. Let’s dive into my golf predictions for this week’s Grant Thornton Invitational.

Grant Thornton Invitational best bet: Corey Conners and Brooke Henderson (+800)
Odds available at DraftKings Sportsbook at time of publishing.
While it’s a difficult betting heat to decipher – not least because most competitors have barely played in recent months – the sportsbooks could prove correct in making the all-Canadian team of Corey Conners and Brooke Henderson among the favorites. One of just 2 teams to be competing for a 3rd time, the Canuck duo have finished 2nd and 4th in previous editions, and they look a good proposition to finally finish top of the standings.
Conners made a promising return from a break in the Bahamas, closing with a 65 to finish in solo seventh in the Hero World Challenge, while his teammate is a rock-solid LPGA performer who won the CPKC Open in August and has posted 6 subsequent top-30 finishes.
