The powerful American, who is third in total driving and fifth in distance on the PGA Tour, is 11th in birdie average and he made 22 birdies when finishing T8 on his debut in this event last year.
Sitting just outside the top 100 in the world, Thorbjornsen was tied for 13th on his last start at the Procore Championship, adding to his share of fourth at the Rocket Classic, T21 at the John Deere and T14 at the ISCO Championship over the last couple of months.
