Tommy Fleetwood, Ludvig Aberg and Collin Morikawa – all shorter than +3000 for the year’s first Major – are among those teeing it up in the Lone Star State. For those not yet qualified for Augusta National, the task is simple: win and you’re in.
The Texas Open is a valuable prize in its own right, but those at the top of a competitive betting market arrive with varying motivations. It is not especially long, but it is demanding – particularly in terms of iron play and the ability to get up and down from the collection areas around the greens. Texas Open best bet: Jordan Spieth (+2000)

While the 3 aforementioned players all have claims if they arrive with their A-game, this looks an ideal opportunity for Jordan Spieth to secure a confidence-boosting pre-Masters win. The Texas native has been consistently solid in recent weeks, with finishes of 12th, 11th, 32nd and 11th in his last 4 PGA Tour starts, striking his irons particularly well throughout the Florida Swing.
He knows the Oaks Course well, finishing runner-up in 2015 and winning in 2021. He was 10th in 2024 despite arriving in poor form, and 12th last year when not quite firing on all cylinders. The 32-year-old is being shown plenty of respect by oddsmakers and, while he too will have one eye on the Masters, he will be eager to end a near 4-year win drought in a tournament he loves.

Texas Open prediction: Ryo Hisatsune (+4500)

Only 3 players in the field boast better strokes-gained tee-to-green numbers than Ryo Hisatsune, who should again give a good account of himself. The tidy Japanese player was runner-up at the Farmers Insurance Open in February and has not missed a cut in 6 starts since. He was 5th at last year’s Texas Open and arrives in even better form this time.

Like Spieth, defending champion Brian Harman is well-suited to a windy Oaks Course, as he showed last year when opening with back-to-back 66s before holding on to win by 3 shots. Harman’s form has been patchy this season, but his best effort of 2026 came on his latest start, finishing 11th at The Players Championship 3 weeks ago.
Texas Open pick: Sudarshan Yellamaraju (+7000)

In-form Canadian Sudarshan Yellamaraju continues to impress, following a 5th-place finish at Sawgrass with 6th in Houston last week. His accurate iron play makes him a good fit for this venue.
