Horse Racing picks for Gulfstream Park race track on Friday, February 18: Secret's out on Secretive Miss

Horse Racing

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Gulfstream Park race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time, up 242.85 units dating back to August 5.

Here are 4 runners we expect to perform well today. It’s time to dive in and discuss these potentially profitable plays.

3:05 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Secretive Miss 12/1

Race 6 at Gulfstream Park is a $28,000 Claiming event for three-year-old fillies over an extended mile on the all-weather track and there’s a filly at double figure odds, Secretive Miss, who can go well here. She has done all of her racing at Tampa Bay and after three failed attempts to break her maiden she finally got her head in front last time out by an impressive three and a quarter lengths and she can build on that in an open looking race.

3:37 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 7) – Wicked Fast 9/2

Jorge Abreu’s Wicked Fast showed a nice bit of improvement to win a competitive Maiden Claimer at Belmont Park last time out and he is the selection in this $42,000 Starter Optional Claiming contest, Race 7. He finished third on debut at the same track before showing battling qualities to win by a head margin on his second start and has the capable hands of Irad Ortiz Jr. on board for this one.

4:11 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 8) – First Rule 8/1

The penultimate race at Gulfstream Park is a $37,000 Starter Allowance for older horses and this looks to be a trappy affair on paper so therefore I am siding with the horse in the outside gate, First Rule, who can stay out of trouble from there and finished third in a similar event last time out. This son of Lookin At Lucky has plenty of track experience and has won on a couple of occasions here so this genuine performer is taken to defeat the horses at the top of the market.

4:42 pm Gulfstream Park (Race 9) – Farm Boy 9/2

A field of eight are set to line up for the ninth and final race at Gulfstream Park and this one can go to Farm Boy who is a consistent type and represents value in this $54,000 Allowance Optional Claiming event. Leonel Reyes’s mount has recent form figures of 31233 and is lightly raced for a five-year-old so it would not surprise should he continue to improve and I like his chances in the finale.
