Horse Racing Picks at Belmont Park for Friday, June 11: Masked Marauder unmasked

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Belmont Park race track. Here are four runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. Let’s dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

3:34 pm Belmont Park (Race 6) – Kreesa La Wrote +300

Race 6 at Belmont Park is a $75,000 Maiden Special Weight over a mile on the turf and Kreesa La Wrote can prove best of all here. David Donk’s filly is drawn out in the ten stall which isn’t ideal but she is experienced with four good runs under her belt which include a fourth and a second place finish here at Belmont Park. Her latest run was her best one as she finished second of twelve over six furlongs and she showed that a step up to a mile may well suit as she was doing all of her best work late. This looks like a good opportunity to gain that elusive first victory and a bold showing is expected.

4:08 pm Belmont Park (Race 7) – Dealing Justice +800

Dealing Justice could well be overpriced in Race 7 at Belmont Park as she has already won two races from five starts and looks to have every chance in this. Both of those wins have been over six furlongs which is half a furlong shorter than this distance but she has shown no signs of stopping in either of those races so this trip will be fine. Her latest win at Churchill Downs was a brilliant one as she won an Allowance contest by three and three quarter lengths and this Allowance Optional Claiming event should be well within her compass.

4:40 pm Belmont Park (Race 8) – Somethingtotellyou +1200

The penultimate race at Belmont Park is a competitive $92,000 Allowance contest for three-year-olds and upward on the turf surface and I like the look of Christophe Clement’s Somethingtotellyou. This gelded son of Honor Code, who himself won a Grade 1 here, is lightly raced for a four-year-old as he has only had the five starts to date but that isn’t a bad thing and I like the way he won at this course last time out. Having been sneakily ridden up the rail by Manuel Franco he crept through up the inside coming into the stretch to win by an impressive three and three quarter lengths at the line and a similar showing should see him in the money at a price.

5:12 pm Belmont Park (Race 9) – Masked Marauder +300

A $45,000 Maiden Claimer over a mile on the turf ends the card at Belmont Park and one of the fancied runners, Masked Marauder, should be too hot to handle for his rivals in this. This gelding has a nice draw in stall four in what will be a big field so it could pay to gain a nice position early and that’s what I am hoping Dylan Davis can do on this lad. He has been running well in Maiden Special Weights so a first drop into Maiden Claiming company can see him in the winners’ circle on what will be his seventh start.
