Horse Racing picks for Belmont Park and Keeneland race tracks on Thursday, October 14:

Jockey Samy Camacho atop Mattys Express

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Thursday, including at Belmont Park and Keeneland race tracks. We are still absolutely on fire with our plays, having picked 93 winners in our last 224 races while profiting 124.75 units dating back to Aug. 5. Here are 4 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races on Thursday. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

2:11 pm Belmont Park (Race 4) – Tingling Mint 5/2

A daughter of Lemon Drop Kid, she cost $190,000 as a yearling and caught the eye on debut at Saratoga last month. Showing inexperience, she was forced to spin five-wide into the stretch, finishing with a strong surge and beaten just two lengths at the wire. She’s entitled to improve exponentially from that promising debut and with natural improvement, she should have no problem graduating at the second attempt.

3:40 pm Keeneland (Race 6) – Almanzo 5/2

Bought for $675,000 as a yearling, this son of Tapit was unsurprisingly sent off at a short price on debut at Churchill Downs last month. He acquitted himself well, finishing fourth after his stretch effort leveled off towards the finish. He should be suited by stretching out to seven furlongs and natural improvement should be forthcoming, especially as he’s trained by Brad Cox. If that proves to be the case, graduation shouldn’t be far away.

4:21 pm Belmont Park (Race 8) – Golden Plume 2/1

A daughter of Candy Ride, she made a winning debut at Tampa Bay in January. She did so by five lengths and was sent off at a short price for her next start in a $103,000 allowance race at Saratoga in August. Given the layoff, she did extremely well to finish fifth, only outfinished in the closing stages. She’s entitled to strip much fitter and she retains all of her potential for a top yard. Still unexposed, she can get back to winning ways for Chad Brown.

5:16 pm Keeneland (Race 9) – Mud Pie 4/1

A two-time winner from 11 starts, both of those victories have come at Kentucky Downs. Most recently, he was a winner of an $145,800 Allowance race, but he’s also performed well at Keeneland in the past. He reached the show in allowance company last October at the venue and he’s evidently improved since. Highly consistent, he’s finished outside the show on just four occasions. A strongly run race will suit him perfectly and he’s an obvious contender.
