Horse Racing picks for Belmont Park race track on Friday, September 17: Action on Jaxon

Swiss Skydiver wins the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Racetrack.

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Belmont Park race track. We are still in fine form with our picks; we have hit 59 winners in our last 135 races, profiting 82.9 units during this stretch. Let’s keep it rolling! Here are 4 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

3:38 pm Belmont Park (Race 6) – Afjan 5/2

Race 6 at Belmont Park is A $90,000 Maiden Special Weight for two-year-olds over six furlongs and this one can go to the newcomer Afjan for Todd Pletcher and his team. This Al Shaqab owned son of Uncle Mo, who himself won twice here, has a very good draw in stall three for his debut run and top jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. takes the ride so–with all these things in mind–he can put up a bold showing.

4:12 pm Belmont Park (Race 7) – Jaxon Traveler 5/2

Steve Asmussen’s Jaxon Traveler has yet to finish out of the top 3 in 9 career starts and he looks set to add another win to his already impressive CV in Race 7 at Belmont Park. A field of 8 look set to go to post for this $100,000 stakes race over six furlongs but there’ll have to go some to beat this colt who recorded his highest speed figure last time out when winning the Star De Naskra Stakes at Pimlico by an easy three lengths and if he turns up in the same mood he’ll win this.

4:44 pm Belmont Park (Race 8) – Bay Storm 8/1

The penultimate race at Belmont Park is the $100,000 Christiecat Stakes over six furlongs on the turf and Bay Storm, who won her Maiden here two starts ago, can make it two wins from 4 starts. That Maiden victory was an authoritative one as she won by a cosy two lengths whilst giving the impression that there could be much more to come and, although she finished fifth in an allowance after that, she still recorded a higher speed figure than the debut win and should improve again and can go close here.

5:16 pm Belmont Park (Race 9) – Madame Rose 20/1

A $37,000 Maiden Claimer is the final race at Belmont Park in which a case can be made for many but Madame Rose, who has gone close a few times at this level, can hit the board again at double figure odds. She has plenty of course experience and has a third and second place finish to her name here so I see no reason why she can’t go close again from an ideal spot in stall 5.
