Horse Racing picks at Del Mar race track on Friday, November 19: Delta Wind for the win

Scott Spieth atop Silverly Enough wins the eighth race of the day at Tampa Bay Downs.

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Del Mar race track. We have been crushing our horse picks for several months now (up 179.45 units dating back to Aug. 5) and plan on maintaining the momentum!

Here are 4 runners whom we expected to have a leg up on the rest of the competition. Let’s dive in discuss these potentially profitable plays.

5:33 pm Del Mar (Race 5) – Town Boy 9/5

Race 5 at Del Mar is a $27,000 Maiden Claiming event for two-year-olds and this one can go to Doug O’Neill’s Town Boy who has finished second on his last two starts and looks set to go one better here. After finishing eighth on debut here back in August this colt has shown a likeable attitude to run close in this grade on his next two starts with his latest effort being a gutsy display and he should go close with a similar run.

6:03 pm Del Mar (Race 6) – Fly To Mars 3/1

Peter Miller’s Fly To Mars is a two time winner at Del Mar and he can make that three wins in this $39,000 Claimer, Race 6. He recorded one of the highest speed figures of his career when finishing a half a length second behind Appreciated in this grade two starts back and he comes into this with every chance especially given the fact he has a perfect draw in stall two.

6:33 pm Del Mar (Race 7) – Delta Wind 5/2

The penultimate race at Del Mar is a competitive $72,000 Allowance Optional Claiming contest over an extended six furlongs on the dirt and Delta Wind can win this for John Sadler and his team. This filly was ultra impressive two starts back when winning a Maiden Special Weight by no less than eleven and a quarter lengths over six furlongs and she could quite easily get away on the lead here under Joe Bravo who was onboard for that latest victory.

7:03 pm Del Mar (Race 8) – Precious Insight 6/1

An open looking $70,000 Maiden Special Weight is the eighth and final race on Del Mar’s Friday card and a chance is taken on Precious Insight who is the most experienced runner in this field with six starts to date and may finally be just about to get her head in front. She failed to hit the board in her first five starts but showed a good bit of improvement last time out to finish second in a good Maiden Special Weight at Santa Anita and she represents value in this race.
