Horse Racing picks for Belmont and Remington Park race tracks on Sunday, September 26: Silver Fist for gold

Scott Spieth atop Silverly Enough wins the eighth race of the day at Tampa Bay Downs.

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Sunday, including at Belmont and Remington Park race tracks. We are still on fire with our picks, having nailed 69 winners in our last 167 races dating back to early August while profiting 89.1 units during this stretch. On Saturday we had the winner in 4 of 5 aces for a profit of 13.4 units. Here are 5 runners whom we think look to be a class above the opposition in their respective races. It’s time to dive in and take a look at some potentially lucrative plays.

3:38 pm Belmont (Race 6) – Silver Fist 6/1

Not many of these have strong form in the book and it could pay to look towards this daughter of Iron Fist. She was unfancied in the market for her debut at Saratoga in August but she acquitted herself well, finishing a running on second behind a runaway winner. The figure she produced was nothing special, but she’s entitled to take a big step forward and subsequent work at Fair Hill has suggested she’s done just that. An $80,000 purchase, connections clearly think plenty of her and she can play her hand in this wide-open event.

7:33 pm Remington Park (Race 8) – Lovely Ride 3/1

Pauline’s Pearl will need to do things the hard way and that could give Bret Calhoun’s filly the run of the race. A prominent racer, she made all the running to win the Cathryn Sophia at Parx last time, impressing with the way she repelled her rivals in very game fashion. This is a tougher contest, but having to lead last time wouldn’t necessarily have been ideal and she should be able to race off the shoulder of the leader this time. She does concede weight all around, but she’s as tough as they come and a repeat of that Parx effort would give her a leading chance under Reylu Gutierrez.

5:16 pm Belmont (Race 9) – Bella Sofia 4/5

She’s a short price, but Rudy Rodriquez’s filly is a star in the making. Winning three of her four starts thus far, she proved she was the real deal when landing the Grade 1 Test at Saratoga in August, quickening clear impressively in the stretch to repel some smart rivals in comfortable fashion. There’s no telling how good this daughter of Awesome Patriot could be and gate one is the perfect draw for her. She’ll get the perfect sit throughout the races and once they turn into the stretch, these rivals are unlikely to match her turn of foot.

9:11 pm Remington Park (Race 11) – Mr Wireless 3/1

Trained by Bret Calhoun, he’s won four of his six starts thus far. That includes winning the Indiana Derby two starts ago, before setting a career-best figure when landing the West Virginia Derby at Mountaineer on his most recent outing. He defeated Warrant in convincing fashion and he can be fancied to uphold the form here, even with a poor draw out in gate seven. He’s not short of early pace and Ramon Vazquez should be able to sit handy from the outset. From there, these rivals will struggle to peg him back in deep stretch.
