Horse Racing picks for Belmont at the Big A on Friday, September 23: Believe in Miracle

Jockey Leslie Mawing atop Highwaytwentyseven (5) wins the second race of the day as the Tampa Bay Downs

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Thursday, including at Aqueduct race track, which is hosting races moved from Belmont due to construction work, with the meeting called Belmont at the Big A. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now and we are up +310.84 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Aqueduct.

2:05 pm Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 1) – Hay Stack 9/5 (2-star play)

Hay Stack showed ability when making a promising debut in finishing 2 1/2 lengths 5th in an 8-runner mile and 1/16th maiden special weight at Saratoga just over a month ago.

She has delivered some solid morning work since, including a 49.75 4-furlong breeze at Saratoga and the daughter of War Front looks up to providing trainer Chad Brown, who has made an impressive start with 7 winners and a further 5 on-the-board finishes from 20 starters, with another win.

3:09 pm Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 3) – Today’s Flavor 6/5 (2-star play)

Today’s Flavor delivered 2nd-place finishes on all 3 previous starts, including when half-a-length 2nd having pressed the pace in a 6-furlong maiden special weight at Del Mar last November. He followed that with a neck 2nd, having led by a length at one stage, in a similar event upped to a mile at the same venue 16 days later.

Gelded subsequently, Manny Franco’s mount is selected to break his maiden in his seasonal debut and his first start outside of California.

3:38 pm Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 4) – Who Hoo Thats Me 5/2 (2-star play)

Who Hoo That’s Me has performed well when ridden with restraint in his 2 most recent starts. He followed up an impressive 3 3/4-length victory in a 6 1/2-furlong allowance at Belmont Park in July with a runner-up finish in an allowance optional claimer over 7 furlongs on a muddy main track at Saratoga the following month.

Flavien Prat, on board for both of those starts, is up once more and the son of Keen Ice is taken to register a third career win.

5:15 pm Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 7) – Orchestration 5/2 (2-star play)

Orchestration broke his maiden when winning by 3 1/2 lengths in a mile and 3/16ths contest at Saratoga in August last year, but he has made just 2 starts subsequently.

The most recent of those came when he was a length 2nd in an allowance over a mile and 1/16th in his seasonal debut at the same venue at the end of July. Jockey Irad Ortiz boasts an impressive 27% strike-rate (8/30) at this meeting and he is taken to improve on that by partnering the son of Flatter to victory.

5:45 pm Belmont at Aqueduct (Race 8) – Miracle 2/1 (2-star play)

Miracle demonstrated good form when drawing 6 lengths clear of her rivals in making a winning debut in a 6-furlong maiden special weight contest at Saratoga in July and possibly found the sloppy track against her when unable to hold a prominent position prior to finishing 3rd in a stakes race over 6 1/2 furlongs there subsequently.

With Flavien Prat, on board for both previous starts, in the saddle she looks capable of reversing form with Lady Mine, who finished runner-up that day.
