Horse Racing picks for Belmont At The Big A race track on Friday, October 20: Quiet Wisdom makes noise

Swiss Skydiver wins the Preakness Stakes at Pimlico Racetrack.

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Friday, including at Belmont At The Big A race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +155.35 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Belmont At The Big A race track.

12:35 Belmont At The Big A (Race 1) – Growth Capital 1/2 (3-star play)

The son of War Front has shown good form in 5 starts to date finishing on the board in four of those. The most recent of those saw him finish runner-up when losing out by a head having attempted to make all in a mile maiden special weight at Kentucky Downs at the start of September in 2022. Growth Capital has delivered some solid works of late and he looks up to returning from a lengthy absence with a victory.

1:40 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 3) – Empire Sky 10/1 (1-star play)

The gelding delivered some solid on the board finishes on both turf and the main track in maiden special weight contests prior to registering a length success over five-and-a-half-furlongs at Saratoga in July. Empire Sky followed that effort up with a nose second when racing from off the pace in an allowance contest over the same course and distance the following month. The son of Klimt has been given a short break since then and is selected to take this one.

2:44 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 5) – Sun And Wind 4/1 (1-star play)

The 2-year-old has delivered third place finishes in two of her 4 starts to date including when beaten eleven-and-a-half-lengths in a 7-furlong maiden special weight contest at Saratoga in August. The daughter of Freud failed to shine when a well-beaten seventh switched to turf for a 6-furlong contest here last month and returning to the main track and dropping in grade she is selected to break her maiden with Manny Franco up for the first time.

3:16 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 6) – Pioneering Spirit 7/2 (2-star play)

Trained by Linda Rice, the gelding showed delivered a 10-length third in a 6-runner renewal of the Grade 1 Sword Dancer over a mile-and-a-half on a yielding track at Saratoga in August. The 4-year-old followed that up with a Listed victory in the Bernard Baruch Stakes over mile-and-one-sixteenth at the same venue. The drop back in trip can see him deliver a victory following a heavy defeat back over a mile-and-a-half in the Grade 1 Turf Classic here.

3:50 pm Belmont At The Big A (Race 7) – Quiet Wisdom 4/5 (3-star play)

The Into Mischief colt takes the eye having delivered on the board finishes in both starts to date. The second of those saw him suffer a 2-length defeat, having been bumped when third in a 6-furlong contest at this venue last month. Todd Pletcher’s representative has delivered a trio of 4-furlong workouts since — including a 50-second breeze a week ago. While drawn wide, he is expected to prove hard to beat under Irad Ortiz.
