A $300,000 purchase as a 2-year-old at Ocala in spring last year, the son of Overanalyze made a big impact when delivering a 4 1/4 length victory in a mile maiden special weight at Belmont when making his belated debut at the end of last month.
He has registered 3 clocked works since including a 50.64 4-furlong breeze last week and he looks capable of defying a wide draw to maintain his unbeaten record with jockey Flavien Prat on board once more.
6:45 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 8) – Easter 2/1 (2-star play)
Easter demonstrated good form in Europe, including when close up in a Group 3 contest over a mile at Longchamp in May last year.
He has shown good form in 2 starts since joining the Graham Motion barn, including when 4 lengths 4th having weakened late on in the Grade 1 Man o’ War Stakes over this course and distance last month. He gets a significant drop in grade today and looks up to registering a first victory since his 2-year-old days.
7:15 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 9) – Miss Sugar Hill 9/5 (2-star play)
Miss Sugar Hill has placed in maiden special weight contests on her 2 most recent starts, including when beaten 1 1/2 lengths into 2nd over a mile and 1/16th at Gulfstream Park last month.
Today’s drop in distance should prove no issue and having proved herself at a higher level, the daughter of Churchill looks capable of making her first start in New York since debuting at Aqueduct last November a winning one as trainer Christophe Clement looks to improve on his 26% strike-rate (27/102) at this meeting.
