6:15 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 7) – Outlaw Kid 7/2 (2-star play)

Race 7 at Belmont Park is a hotly contested six furlong Allowance Optional Claiming event on the turf where my attention is turned to George Weaver’s Outlaw Kid who could be set for a fruitful four-year-old campaign.

This son of Violence showed a good level of form on his debut season last year, which culminated in an easy four and three quarter length Allowance win at Aqueduct, and he is one to keep an eye on.

6:45 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 8) – Chocolate Gelato 7/5 (2-star play)

Todd Pletcher’s Chocolate Gelato is making her long-awaited three-year-old debut in the Jersey Girl Stakes and I fancy her to put up a nice performance.

She easily beat a nice field in the Grade 1 Frizette last year, which led to a bid at the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies, but she underperformed that day. However, she remains an exciting prospect and is one to keep on side.

7:15 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 9) – Be Your Best 8/1 (1-star play)

A field of eight fillies are set to go to post for the $200,000 Grade 2 Wonder Again Stakes and one who can go well at a price is the filly in stall three, Be Your Best.

Manuel Franco’s mount put up some good performances last year with the highlight being a stakes victory at Saratoga and she has been going well in recent workouts at this course so she should go close.

7:45 pm ET Belmont Park (Race 10) – Red Butterfly 5/1 (2-star play)

The finale at Belmont Park is an open looking Maiden Claimer which is to be run over a seven furlong trip on the turf course and this can go to Red Butterfly who will find this assignment much easier than her three outings last year.

All three of those were in Maiden Special Weights and she did well, particularly on debut where she ran second behind Fleetfooted at Aqueduct, so if she runs to that level then she can win.
