1:14 pm Churchill Downs (Race 2) – Lone Rock 4/5 (2-star play)
Delivered some impressive efforts in winning long-distance stakes races in the last year or so and he registered a big figure when battling to a neck victory having made most in the mile-and-a-half Temperance Hill Stakes at Oaklawn Park at the start of last month. Won this race by three-and-three-quarter-lengths 12 months ago and coming into this on the back of a 48.60 four furlong work at Keeneland he looks capable of going back-to-back in this contest.
3:50 pm Churchill Downs (Race 7) – Pioneering Spirit 2/1 (2-star play)
Has demonstrated good form in finishing on the board in two of his last three starts this campaign including when one-and-a-half-lengths second on a sloppy track at Keeneland last month. Had previously been beaten three-quarters-of-a-length when fourth over a sixteenth further at Gulfstream Park in February. Represents a top trainer in Todd Pletcher and with the step up in distance looking likely to suit the ex-Irish performer is taken to get off the mark at the seventh attempt.
