Horse Racing picks for Del Mar race track on Friday, November 10: Leopardess catches her prey

Santa Anita Horse Racing on Dirt

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Friday, including at Del Mar race track. We have been in fine form with our picks for a long time now and we are up +127.05 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Del Mar race track.

3:30 pm Del Mar (Race 1) – Leopardess 8/5 (2-star play)

The daughter of Bobby’s Kitten showed good form when coming from off the pace to deliver a two length victory in a mile maiden special weight at Indian Downs in May. The 3-year-old followed that up with a couple of sixth-place finishes including in a Canterbury Park stakes event and while she faded over a mile-and-five-sixteenths at Kentucky Downs in September she gets a drop to claiming company here and looks capable of recording a victory under Flavien Prat.

3:59 pm Del Mar (Race 2) – Halo Uncle 8/5 (2-star play)

The juvenile has registered on the board finishes in two of his last four starts including when delivering his best effort to date when losing out by a nose in a similar race to this over five-and-a-half-furlongs at Santa Anita last month. Jeff Bonde’s gelding shaped as if a return to this distance would suit and with regular pilot Armando Aguilar booked to ride he looks up to breaking his maiden at the sixth time of asking.

4:29 pm Del Mar (Race 3) – Julias Dream 8/5 (2-star play)

Michael McCarthy’s charge showed plenty of ability when delivering a five-and-a-half-length victory in a five furlong maiden special weight at this venue in early August. The Flameaway filly made all the running on that occasion with the switch to the main track and step up in grade against her when a below par eighth in the Grade 1 Del Mar Debutante here the following month. Back down in trip she is taken to score with Flavien Prat in the saddle.

5:59 pm Del Mar (Race 6) – Wishtheyallcouldbe 5/2 (2-star play)

The mare has had plenty of trainers so far in 2023 and she changed hands for the third time since July following a two-and-a-quarter-length victory in an allowance optional claimer over 6 furlongs at Santa Anita last month. The daughter of Grazen had won twice here for previous trainer Mark Glatt prior to that and heading into this contest on the back of a 47.80 4-furlong work she is selected to register her fourth consecutive victory.

6:29 pm Del Mar (Race 7) – Dandy Man Shines 8/5 (2-star play)

The three-year-old showed solid form without winning when trained in the UK and registered his first victory since crossing the Atlantic Ocean when delivering a two-and-a-quarter-length victory in a mile maiden special weight at this venue in September. The Dandy Man gelding has been given a break since then and having performed well in stakes company in the past he is selected to register a victory on the back of a string of works at Santa Anita.
