Horse Racing picks for Finger Lakes race track on Wednesday, June 8: Another Image looks picture-perfect

Horse Racing

There is plenty of great horse racing across America on Wednesday, including at Finger Lakes race track. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now and are up +280.26 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it rolling!

Here are our best bets for today’s action at Finger Lakes.

2:58 pm ET Finger Lakes (Race 5) – Another Image 8/1 (1-star play)

Race 5 at Finger Lakes is a $16,000 Maiden Claiming contest for the female division over six furlongs on the dirt, and one who can go well at big odds is the filly in stall four, Another Image, who is dropping into this company for the first time, having been contesting Maiden Special Weights at this course.

She has failed to win from seven starts but has gone close on a couple of occasions and should appreciate this drop in grade, so it would not surprise to see her break her maiden here.

3:25 pm ET Finger Lakes (Race 6) – Hit By A Wave 2/1 (2-star play)

A field of nine geldings who have never won more than two races are set to line up in Race 6 at Finger Lakes, which is a $12,600 Claiming event over an extended five furlongs on the dirt, and Hit By A Wave can take this.

This son of Frosted finished down the field in two competitive Maiden Claimers at Aqueduct and Belmont Park before breaking his maiden over six furlongs at this course. He won that race by a huge seven-and-three-quarter lengths and he can win again.

3:52 pm ET Finger Lakes (Race 7) – Cut The Cord 9/2 (2-star play)

The penultimate race at Finger Lakes is a competitive $25,900 Allowance and I like the chances of Cut The Cord, who is two-from-two at this course which includes a last-time-out win in this grade over this course and distance, and another big run beckons.

That latest win was a routine one having tracked the pace early over an extended mile and he can do so again under Luis Perez from stall one.

4:19 pm ET Finger Lakes (Race 8) – R Working Girl 4/6 (3-star play)

R Working Girl is likely to go off a short-priced favorite for the finale at Finger Lakes and it’s easy to see why. Rudy Rodriguez’s filly has finished in the first three in five of her 10 starts to date, all of which have been in much more valuable races at tracks such as Aqueduct and Keeneland. If she puts her best foot forward then she should win the finale.
