1:09 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 2) – Bullet On Tap 2/1 (2-star play)
Bullet On Tap is improving with racing since joining the Elizabeth L. Dobles barn at the end of last year. She placed 3rd over 6 furlongs in a claiming race at this level on her penultimate outing and built on that when delivering a 2 3/4 length triumph when upped to 7 furlongs in a similar contest at this track subsequently.
Edgard J. Zayas, who was on board the daughter of Tapiture for her penultimate start, returns to the saddle today and he can partner her to a victory as they step up in trip.
2:08 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 4) – Mr. Cellular 2/1 (2-star play)
Mr. Cellular, a son of Nyquist, belatedly got off the mark when winning by 1 3/4 lengths in a $12,500 maiden claiming contest over a mile at this venue last month. He raced close to the speed on that occasion, having been ridden with more restraint in 2 previous outings for handler Claudio A. Gonzalez.
Apprentice Angelo Morales is up once more and the pair are selected to complete a double with Morales’ mount having delivered a 49.04 4-furlong breeze at this track earlier this month.
3:08 pm ET Gulfstream Park (Race 6) – Sequin Lady 8/5 (2-star play)
Sequin Lady has demonstrated good form at a higher level than this, including when winning an allowance optional claimer over 5 1/2 furlongs at this track in June last year.
She has failed to score since, but did manage a 3rd in a small-field starter optional claimer over this 5-furlong trip in December. She did not shine on turf in 2 subsequent starts, but the switch back to synthetics today is in her favour and she looks capable of scoring for trainer Kelsey Danner as she drops in grade.
