He struggled in New York earlier this year, including when down the field in a $50,000 starter event over six-and-a-half-furlongs at Aqueduct in February. He also gets a marked drop in grade for this contest while the step up to seven furlongs is no issue on his first start at this track. He represents a yard who are doing well at this meeting and is taken to score on the back of a 1:01.74 five furlong work at this venue on 23rd July.
3:10 pm ET Parx (Race 6) – Call Me Jelly 3/5 (3-star play)
The booking of Ruben Silvera takes the eye with regards to the six-year-old mares chances on her first start at this venue. The daughter of Midnight Lute showed good form in low level claimers last year including when winning by one-and-a-half-lengths over six furlongs in $5,000 claimer at Finger Lakes in November. She delivered a couple of impressive works of late, including a 47.80 four furlong breeze at Fair Hill training center and looks up to making a winning seasonal debut.
4:31 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Miss Dillingham 7/2 (2-star play)
She completed a hat-trick when winning an $8,000 starter event over a mile-and-one-eighth here in June, but appeared to find the drop in trip an issue when only third behind a couple of today’s rivals in Flashing Diamond and Bucks Some here subsequently. She was well below form that the daughter of Jump Start is taken to reverse that form upped to seven furlongs with jockey Ruben Silvera looking to improve on a 22% strike-rate (105/476) at this meeting.
