2:10 pm ET Parx (Race 6) – Shackle Cat 2/1 (2-star play)
Shackle Cat was victorious in $12,500 claiming company over this course and distance on his final start for Jamie Ness and has shown good form in 4 starts since joining his current trainer, including when winning by 3 1/2 lengths at this level on a sloppy main track in early September.
Freshened up since a 5 1/4 length 4th in a similar contest later that month, the 4-year-old looks up to scoring with Paco Lopez, on board for his last 2 starts, again in the saddle.
2:37 pm ET Parx (Race 7) – Obstinate 9/5 (2-star play)
Obstinate has been impressive in 2 starts since returning to $8,000 starter allowance level from claimers and starter optional claiming races, winning twice including when making all to draw 7 1/2 lengths clear of 6 rivals over this track and trip earlier this month.
She had previously raced in 3rd prior to winning a similar contest and with regular pilot Frankie Pennington up, the daughter of Tiznow looks up to completing a hat-trick with a good draw two off the rail being a further positive.
3:31 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Darling Donna 8/5 (2-star play)
Darling Donna was a wide-margin winner of a maiden claiming contest over 5 1/2 furlongs at Del Mar in August and registered a second win in her last 3 starts when scoring by 3 1/2 lengths in a
$32,000 claimer at Santa Anita at the end of September.
She joined the Michael Moore barn following that contest and with the extra half-furlong today unlikely to inconvenience her, the daughter of Peace and Justice is selected to help her trainer improve on his 26% strike-rate (34/133) at this meeting.
