Eons has shown a liking for this venue in the past when delivering a nose victory in a mile and 1/16th stakes contest at Parx in June. That effort came on a good track and he again tackled a wet turf track when runner-up in a Listed mile-and 1/8th stakes at Laurel subsequently.
He was a slightly disappointing fourth in the Buckland Stakes over the same trip at Colonial Downs in August but has shown good form in the mornings at the Fair Hill Training Center in recent weeks.
4:33 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Fortheluvofbourbon 8/5 (2-star play)
The winner of each of his last 4 starts, this son of Bourbon Courage delivered his 2nd stakes success of the year when drawing 4 lengths clear of his 8 rivals in the 6-furlong Banjo Picker Sprint Stakes at Parx in August.
The extra half-furlong today should prove no issue as he has won in allowance company over 7 furlongs at this venue and he is expected to deliver a victory with jockey Paco Lopez, who was on board for his last 2 victories, riding.
5:29 pm ET Parx (Race 11) – Kalypso 4/1 (2-star play)
A rare runner at this meeting for Steve Asmussen, the daughter of Brody’s Cause delivered a good 2nd-placed finish in a 7-furlong stakes at Colonial Downs in August. She had previously found Grade 3 company too hot in the Chicago Stakes at Churchill Downs.
Top jockey Ruben Silvera is in the saddle today and coming into this after a 49.49 4-furlong breeze at Belmont Park, the 4-year-old is selected to register a stakes success.
