12:55 pm ET Parx (Race 1) – Open Lengths 8/5 (2-star play)
Open Lengths performed well when finishing a neck 3rd in a competitive $10,000 claiming contest over a mile at Parx on his penultimate outing. He was well below that form when unable to lay up with the early leader prior to fading over the same trip there 2 weeks ago, but he gets a welcome drop to a $5,000 claiming contest today.
He’s likely to race close to the pace and with Luis D Rivera booked for the ride he looks up to recording win number 5.
2:43 pm ET Parx (Race 5) – Phenomenal Woman 2/1 (2-star play)
Phenomenal Woman has demonstrated plenty of ability in stronger maiden claiming races, including when 4 lengths 2nd in a $25,000 contest at Belmont Park last month, when she attempted to make virtually all the running.
The drop in grade today is a positive and the daughter of Mucho Macho Man is taken to make her first appearance at this track a winning one with Andrew Wolfsont booked for the ride.
3:37 pm ET Parx (Race 7) – Jim’s Bronze Star 5/2 (2-star play)
Jim’s Bronze Star took 17 attempts to break her maiden, with that success coming in a $25,000 maiden claimer at Tampa Bay Downs in February. But she hasn’t looked back since, completing a hat-trick for handler Robert R O’Connor II when making all to win by 1 3/4 lengths in a $30,000 claimer over 6 furlongs at Monmouth Park last month.
She has a top jockey in Paco Lopez up once more and looks capable of making all to register a victory having drawn the rail.
