2:43 pm ET Parx (Race 5) – Masrour 2/1 (2-star play)
Masrour showed good form during the winter, breaking his maiden at the second attempt when taking a 6-furlong maiden special weight at Penn National in February. He came home 2 1/4 lengths ahead of his rivals, but was gelded following a below-par allowance optional claiming race performance at Parx in March.
He returned with a good 2nd in a starter allowance earlier this month and with Ruben Silvera retaining the ride he looks up to going one better this time.
4:04 pm ET Parx (Race 8) – Sapphire Royalty 2/1 (2-star play)
Sapphire Royalty has performed well in 3 starts at Parx since joining the Juan Carlos Guerrero barn, including when making all to win by a length in a 7-furlong $25,000 starter event in June.
Her sole subsequent start came when a length 2nd under similar tactics over this track and trip in a similar race to this the following month. Given a break since, the daughter of Gemologist is selected to score following a 49.18 4-furlong work last week.
4:31 pm ET Parx (Race 9) – Eastern Bay 2/1 (2-star play)
Eastern Bay was victorious by 1 1/4 lengths in a 6-furlong allowance optional claiming race at Laurel in August on his penultimate start. Norman Cash’s charge performed well when moving up to stakes company and finishing runner-up in the 7-furlong Russel Road Stakes at Hollywood Casino At Charles Town Races just over a month ago.
He is yet to race at this venue but receives weight from all of his rivals and is selected to provide jockey William Humphrey with a first winner at this meeting.
