Horse Racing picks for Penn National on Friday, June 4: Annapolis can stay unbeaten

Scott Spieth atop Silverly Enough wins the eighth race of the day at Tampa Bay Downs.

There is plenty of great horse racing action to look forward to across America on Friday, including at Penn National race track. We have been on fire with our picks for a long time now and are up +283.66 units with our race selections to our recommended stakes dating back to August 5, 2021. Let’s keep it going!

Here are the horses we like at Penn National today.

5:00pm ET Penn National (Race 1) – Kudoro 2/1 (2-star play)

Kudoro has demonstrated good form at this venue since joining current trainer Timothy C Kreiser, finishing on the board in 3 starts in $8,000 claiming company, including when beaten 2 1/4 lengths over this trip in April.

Sloppy ground proved to be no issue when delivering a 1 1/4-length triumph in the same grade there subsequently and the Mason Dixon Stable-owned gelding looks up to delivering a 4th win in 10 starts at this track in the opening race on the card.

5:30pm ET Penn National (Race 2) – Macho Smoke 2/1 (2-star play)

Macho Smoke has been in good form, including in 2 starts for his current handler. Claimed for $10,000 following a victory in a 6-furlong contest at Penn National at the start of April, the Macho Uno gelding has placed 2nd in similar races to this in his last 2 starts, including when beaten half a length 3 weeks ago.

He has a top jockey in Julio A Hernandez in the saddle and is taken to register a third win in 5 starts this year.

6:00pm ET Penn National (Race 3) – Love In The Air 2/1 (2-star play)

A maiden special weight winner over a mile on a sloppy track in July last year, the daughter of Constitution has shown good form in 2 outings since joining the John Servis barn.

She followed up a 2nd-place finish in a 7 1/2 furlong allowance optional claimer on turf at Gulfstream Park with a wide-margin victory dropped to 6 furlongs on the main track at Monmouth Park, and can deliver a stakes success with the switch to turf no issue.

7:10pm ET Penn National (Race 5) – Haughty 4/5 (3-star play)

Haughty was 1st past the post in her debut prior to a disqualification, but the daughter of Empire Maker followed up with an impressive win at Keeneland with an eye-catching 3/4-length 3rd in the Grade 1 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar in early November.

She has delivered some solid efforts in the mornings of late, including a 50.33 4-furlong breeze on turf at Belmont Park a week ago and is taken to make a winning 3-year-old debut under Flavien Prat.

7:45pm ET Penn National (Race 6) – Annapolis 9/5 (2-star play)

Unbeaten in 2 starts, the son of War Front followed up a 4 1/2-length triumph over a mile and 1/16th at Saratoga in his debut last September with a battling head success in the Grade 2 Pilgrim Stakes over the same trip at Belmont Park at the start of October.

Jockey Irad Ortiz is on board once more and representing a top trainer in Todd Pletcher, Annapolis looks well placed to make his first start of 2022 a winning one.
